All Ends Are Beginnings

Dear watchers and newcomers to my page.
Before you read my journal, please take note that I will still commission artworks and please my watchers and any and all newcomers! You are all welcome and I welcome you with open arms! <3
It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you all. I am taking my leave from the fandom, but not in the sense that you might expect. Yes, I am turning in my badge as a furry/scalie and leaving the fandom, but I will stay here, not as a furry or one associated with the fandom, but simply as an admirer and observer--one who accepts furries. Well, certain kinds at least. Emphasize on 'certain'.
With the increase of toxicity and people growing more and more out of touch with the fandom, believing the fandom is nothing more but a tool for self identification, PC culture, hive mentality and bad apples surfacing. I find myself in the position that I must pack my bags and take my leave. I cannot be part of a fandom that is now, in 2018, a more PC culture, social political, social acceptance, identity enforcing focused fandom. Granted, every fandom has their bad apples, their ups and downs, drama and toxicity. Some more than others. I don't expect any of you to agree, but please listen to what I have to say.
Since I joined the fandom in late 2015, I have met a lot of really nice people, you know how you are! But with every good person I meet, there have been some bad ones, those who are on my shit list will not be named out of respect for their privacy.
These people--these bad apples, are nothing but a plague for this fandom I was welcomed in with open arms. With so little monitoring on here, and so much drama going around, I find myself getting sucked into these situations whether I beg to stay out of or not. The constant negativity surrounding the fandom has gone more and more rampant to the point where it seems to be a fire you cannot put out.
I've had people come to me with nothing but rp requests, and when I tell em no, they act like I've committed the worst crime humanity's ever known. Like, are you for real? No wonder this fandom has gone down the shitter the last few months or years, not to mention the white knights. God if there was a way to please them it would either to succumb to their ignorance or die trying. You have no idea how many arguments I've had with ignorant people and some downright stupid, moronic and idiotic people who go on a rampage because you said something that differs from their point of view. Like I'm sorry, but if you're one of those people who get super riled up about a different opinion, then you're super sensitive with no sense of logic or reason. I'm sorry to tell you.
This fandom believes in the promotion of peace, no violence, love and care and to stop bullying and oppression. But what happens when people abuse the system and the oppressed become the oppressors? I'm sorry but for a fandom that believes in diversity, love, peace, creativity and what other agenda there is, letting these people run rampant isn't helping the fandom. It's helping the fandom fall further down the rabbit hole if that's what you would like, if so then more power to you, you're contributing to the problem. And in doing so you're dragging everybody else down who don't wish for it happen.
Here's the thing, there are few--FEW people who have the courage to speak out, even fewer who dare speak about what's wrong with the fandom. Why? Because the hivemind flocks to the person speaking out and slanders said person until they can't go on, until they are defeated by the stupidity and irrational thinking of the hive. I have heard stories of people losing close friends over their stances on certain things, I myself have been in the same situation. And it wasn't pretty at all. One mistep and it's your ass on the line. Walk on thin ice and it's your ass in the icy cold water.
People have become so sensitive it's not even funny, it's rather sad and frankly, it's downright pathetic. There is not a single time where I'd be on a server and I say a joke that is not directed to the person getting offended--yet there they are getting all butthurt over something that doesn't concern them. I'm sorry a harmless joke was the cause of you throwing shit at me when it wasn't even directed towards you. But I am not sorry for telling jokes when they are just that; a fucking joke.
You can't say something without offending someone, somewhere, somehow. Because if you do, it's either a call for socializing, or it's a call for disaster. I can't have a simple discussion about something without the other becoming defensive because I burst their precious little bubble and reminding them of the real world. Sure, for some, the fandom is a place to escape reality, but that doesn't mean you have to live in a fantasy day in day out. That's not how it works.
Even worse are the people who claim self entitlement, superiority and what other things there are that make people think they're better than others. Fact of the matter is, you're not better than anybody. We are all unique and we all have our strengths, you may be good at this and that but don't claim to be better then everybody else just because you just so happen to be good at something or have a popular trait about you.
When it comes to identity and sexual identity, oh boy that's where it becomes a shitstorm real quick. One time I happen to talk to a trans person and I apparently used the wrong pronoun, and I was berated for God knows how long and getting lectured over a mistake. To that I say "Fuck you, what gives you the right to talk down to someone who makes a mistake like that? You have no authority."
One time I said openly that I'm a man--a cis-male and some prick made a snarky comment like "Of course you'd accept your masculinity just because you were born with a dick." - I was like, nigga what the fuck? But knowing I'd be walking into a pit of shit I wouldn't get out of, I stayed away from saying anything that could escalate the situation.
You can identify as whatever you'd like, just keep this in mind; Don't fucking cram it down someone's throat. How hard can it be? Or are you incapable of such a thing that you just feel the need to let everybody and their dog know you're a scissor-milk carton-dung beetle-sexual? If so then you're part of the problem.
I treat the topic of gender, transgender-ism and identity like I treat religion: Keep it the fuck at home and don't spill it out into the public eye, you'll be just asking for a political shitstorm. And I'm 100% sure you don't want that, or are you aching for a fight?
If you're a person that does nothing but complain about everything, that everything is unfair to you and blaming it on others without making the effort to better your situation. You're pathetic and you need to get your life sorted out ASAP. If you won't do it, nobody will do it for you. Complain all you like, see how far you'll go. You'll soon realize you're not going anywhere.
But with all the negativity up there, there has to be positive things about the fandom, right? Of course! I've seen a lot of really good people, loving people and people who are understanding and very supportive! I've seen meetups that support children in need, charity work, spreading goodness to people around them. To that I say more power to you! You deserve everything good and a happy life! I've seen a lot of good things along with the bad. Sometimes the balance shifts to more on the bad side and vice versa.
In conclusion. This fandom has been a mixed bag for me. A lot of good things have come out of my time in here and a lot of bad things have come out of this.
To all my friends who stumble upon this journal. You will always be my friends, and I will always be here when you need me. I'm not leaving entirely. I'm just disassociating myself and my characters with the furry fandom. I want to be my own persona, no furry strings attached. To be honest, Jaren and all my characters were never part of the fandom, they're aliens as far as their lore is concerned :)
I wish you all well and may good fortune come to you! I will still be active on FA! And I will continue to commission art! <3 Thank you for the wonderful times!
I now leave you with these parting words: GAMERS RISE UP!

Biggest issue IMO is people thinking people liking their art or their OC means they like them as a person. In that case Jasonafex must be the greatest person ever since he has the most watchers lol. We all know what the truth is, though.
but no matter what happend or what will happen next...those who are willing to stand with you, will remain by your side
experiences are made from such things that can happen...
but no matter what...we're with you dude...you can count on it
All the people that try to chat just talk about them and their problems and never even bother to talk for a second of me.
Idk what to do, I'm really tempted to do the same thing to be honest
If you feel the need to leave the fandom, then that is primarily your decision to make! People cannot and shouldn't make decisions for you! You are the master of your actions! Just don't leave the fandom and your friends, you can still be friends with them c:
Especially when I try to make a friggin conversation and they just either talk nonstop about them or when bothered they just straight reply me with monosyllables
Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Remember that!
I don't know if you have seen Kothorix video but I think his point of view about the fandom is quite right
I know it's been a while but if you're still on discord, we should chat some more. I miss our chats
In the meantime I hope you still have fun with your life and stay safe Qapla'
But yeah I had fun while in the fandom, met a lot of really good people!
Honestly, I stay out of the drama and politics in the furry community because.... Well, I have a life outside the internet xD Plus, I share your sentiment on the gender and other junk - keep it at home.
But, with all that said, it sucks to hear that you aren't associating your OCs with the furry community, and I completely understand your reasoning!
It just.... Really sucks because I was gonna ask down-the-road if it would have been alright if I drew one of your OCs with mine in an adult pic together, but I suppose that's off the table lol
Anywho, I hope things turn out much better for you!!!
And oh? What sort of adult pic would you have drawn?
Oh, it would have involved my main (ref is HORRIBLY outdated and I'm still working on the update - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21716267/ ) with Melina either in a shower, outside some place or in a bedroom. The pose, though, I have no idea since I never got passed thinking about it since I wanted to ask you first.
Thank you for you interest though, it's highly appreciated!
