I’m only a few hours into it and so far it’s..... resoundingly ok. It takes some getting used to for sure and can be pretty tricky but just take the first bit slow, follow the overseer for a bit it’ll teach you the basics. It’s of course gorgeous. If someone attacks you hit them a few times back and just dance around them and dodge, don’t run away, most people give up after a minuets or so. People really start working together when they realize better ways to make caps then killing other players. Also THERE ARE NPCs. I’ve seen robot vendors and if you follow the overseer you’ll likely run into a wandering super mutant with a brahmin. He is also a vendor, you need caps just like in any other fallout.

My best advice: take it slow, don’t be afraid to die (don’t waste your CS s unless you are indoors), really dig deep and look around, and most of all don’t shoot first! There are a lot of NPCs like the supermutant vendor who are non hostile and are not you enemy.
