I sort of agree with you there. I mean, people are free to draw what they want of course, and I'm not going to hold their choices against them, but my preferences to tend to lean toward male/female. Being shy myself I do tend to relate better to the shy male, but yeah, the whips and chains are a bit much.
Art with some feeling behind it really is the best! Romance almost always brings a smile to my face.

I'm inclined to agree. It's hard to find any exciting het stuff... Then, try to find good yuri. (yeah. I think I sifted out three pics all in all of the flood on here.)
Despite the possibilities for something else, a lot of the adult art is predictable, boring and in some cases a real turn-off. >_> I get fed up quickly browsing the adult section, and I like erotic art. I'd just like to stress that it goes for the "clean" art as well. You just notice it more with the adult stuff, I think.

Hey, 'fess right up, I'm a perv. >:3 I can like adult art being "aggressive" to a degree, or being more about lust than love. Changes with my mood. But there has to be some kind of emotion or tension in it; some kind of charge in the air. Biology 101 don't do it for me, LOL.
There's so much more involved in sex than bodily functions (and even bodies are more than just machines!) - comfort, frustration, trust, guilt to name just a few... All these can be so concentrated and crisp in that situation, because you're laid bare, literally. But how many use that opportunity?

Doesn't have to be dead serious, don't get me wrong - silly can be sexy, and I like stuff that just expresses characters' personalities as well, I say in the case of adult art, green lights for some personal kink or whatever - yes to all kinds of personality show-off but no to... cookie cutter stuff.

What makes a (clean or adult) pic interesting / enticing is the emotion or charge displayed between the characters, and a lot of people fail to express that. It goes for pure romantic art as well. "Yes, they're looking at each other. Yes, they're holding hands. No, I'm not feeling a thing, here."

And there are images that make me cringe. ("oh. you got... kiddie porn, snuff and water sports all in one image. How nice. Pass the brain bleach please." I really thought I was going to hurl that once. Teaches me not to click on stuff just for the hell of it. Urgh.)

Still I'm OK with them being posted, because it's the policy of the site to allow all kinds of stuff - and that means nobody has a right to get down on me for posting stuff they don't "approve of". I'd rather have freedom than security in this instance. I just take detours around the stuff I don't like.

It does seem odd that the same guys who drool over lesbian sex often hate real gay people. Or that girls who revel in yaoi are disgusted by yuri. Double standards galore.
Me, I kinda like both... And sexuality is like a continuum to me, not two or three set standards. I'm utterly confused in that arena, so I can't say what's right or wrong. :/
... But as for the yaoi & yuri, it's mostly fantasies. Drawings and real life are usually different (understatement of the week goes to me!). And a lot of guy/guy stuff is done by girls, and vice versa, so it's more an issue of "ooh more hot *insert gender here* at once" than actually having anything to do with real homosexual attraction / love. I think. I'm just rambling.
For me, it does matter what genders are involved (heck why else would I go looking specifically for yuri and yaoi?) but I don't belong to the "het is ew" lot :D

It's why I haven't posted much adult stuff; I haven't finished a lot of drawings of it yet that I liked. :/ It's hard to get it right.
