Why bicycle people can be such asses!

I often don’t talk first and I should not have to apologize for that.
I’m just one of those "don’t talk unless spoken too" person.
Tips are welcomed! 
On a serious note, if you are one to ride a bicycle.
Please be considerate!
I had to stop and comfort a boy around 13yr-ish because of a asshole blasting past, giving a sharp whistle and barking at the kid to not be in the middle of the street... the kid was nowhere near the middle but as me was on the outer sides of the street.
Now I dunno if this could be because the kid was poc, but anyway by pure instinct I asked if he was okay and he was crying so I stop to hug and comfort him. He was terrified, he thought he was gonna be run over and I don't blame him I would too.
He calms down after a few mins and I tell him "There are morons for everything. Now go home, get something good to eat or drink and do something fun." I really wished I could have walked him home but I was on my way to Drives ED.
What baffles me though is that asshole, like how the hell did he get up to that speed when 1. He had both legs up on the steering 2. In his arms he held a pair of crutches! Like whaaaat?!
Also shortly after he blasted past me I heard the same sharp whistle and barking at someone, I didn't see who since it was behind a garage shed.
But yeah, that was my day =P

Usually male with the belief that the whole road is theirs and that road rules, like traffic lights and pedestrian crossings, do not apply to them. Apparently all pedestrians must get out of their way and it is the responsibility of car and truck drivers to keep them from becoming roadkill, not their responsibility to stop their deathwish riding.
