I've never been in one, but for what I know I think is like a big ass party. Some do have great time and make friends there, some will be fanaticign their popufur idols, some sick fucks will be there to do wicked things, some will be just plain annoying... A variety of experiences~

I lost my hype for such events, let alone the fandom on itself. I have no interest on spending money on the big conventions out there in USA, México, so on... Yet I'm interested in a local furcon in my country that's been set up for the next year. It may be the only convention I'll be attending ever. The staff themselves I considere to be very likable. ♡

I have to agree with everything you said. I could add to my list of "reasons to not go there" that one of my friends went to many convention and he said that a lot of furries are snobbing other furries. Add to this the videos I have seen of people dancing on stage which almost looks like Miley Cyrus twerking her ass off.

I mean, where is the fun suppose to be? I want to have a hell of a good time, not to be ignored by others and do dirty dancing in hope to get a dick up my ass for the coming night XP

HAHAHA, same! I feel it ends up being too much of an uncomfortable creep show quite often. I wouldn't stand such things, but hell somehow I'm hyped about the local one. Guess I need to conclude things about the fandom in my country by experience (I'm doing so). And oh, the dancing competitions... I AVOID watching those because they're absolutely not interesting for me. I understand is hard to perform in a suit but... Ew.

I'd you to go to this convention and give feedback about it. Maybe you would like it more than you think ;) Also, I watched many dancing competition. I think some are really doing awesome stuffs but most of the time I just to get it. At least, if the music is good you can close your eyes and focus on it instead.

Yeah, there are some good performances as well! But the majority of them really aren't for me.
About the convention, seems it could be a really good time, and also I can meet some people I find interesting, plus buying some stuff from artists I like. So all in all something good I'll be getting anyway. ♡

The closest I have been to going to a furcon is Bayoucon. It's mostly sci-fi stuff, but a handful of furry vendors were there. My friend and her cousin showed us around. Honestly, it was pretty okay although the one Klingon teaching self defense was a bit too intense of a person for me. xD

One day, if I gather the interest for it, I may go North (about 4 hours driving) and go see Furry Fiesta in Texas.
