Since my stories usually end up longer than I plan, and taking longer to write as a result, should I write shorter stories in-between my usual submissions?
Maybe you could try little story appetizers that could serve as YCH inspirations? That way the story doesn't come to a conclusion too quickly, and someone might be inspired enough to get it for their character.
