Of these three groups/artists, the songs that really stuck to me are:
VNV Nation - Solitary
VNV Nation - Lights Go Out
VNV Nation - All Our Sins (I need to learn the full lyrics to this one)
Mystery Skulls - Forever
Mystery Skulls - Paralyzed
Kesha - Praying
I wasn't crazy about Kesha but I actually like a lot of her newest album.
I gave VNV Nation and Mystery Skulls a listen and they aren't bad! VNV Nation isn't my genre but I can see why you like them. I bet my husband would be into them.
Mystery Skulls gives me Mother Mother vibes. I clicked on the Paralyzed music video and it definitely made me think of the intro for the old TV series Dead Like Me -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuVc_EynwyA Great show and both seasons are on Amazon Prime, if you're into irreverent death-themed comedies. We just finished rewatching it and I forgot how good it was.
VNV Nation's latest album, Noire, is a worthwhile album to listen to. I also recommend some of their earlier albums like Empires, Futureperfect, and Matter + Form if your husband would be interested.
I'm not too big into TV shows like I used to be. However, it'd be something my wife would be interested in, so I'll be sure to let her know your recommendation.
I can definitely hear how MM and MS can give the same feel. I'll have to give more of their songs a try.
