Talon jobs are fun. These feet are meant to grab tree branches and keep bird bodies up in trees without flipping upside-down, by mistake. We have good grip strength, with our feet.

Imagine that squeeze around, say, your finger~? Or other things~?

Talons are very nice, especially in the 3-toed or 2-toed variety for birds. They can be very sexy to see on display.

Jay feet have four toes. Three point forward, like a W, and the last talon goes backwards, like a heel.

That's sort of what I was referring to with three-toed as well. I tend not to count the one on the heel, but that can always serve as a nice bonus. Makes it all the easier to grab things with it
