Bad news...

So today I just got told my hard drive is pooched and they can't recover any of my files...so ALL art that I have done this past week is gone...all sketches and even my xmas boxes which just had printing left to do....So now I have to Re-do everything, I'm so sorry for the inconvinience and I am going to be going in SUPER DRIVE ARTIST OVERLOAD MODE this week so I can re catch up.
To my commissioners waiting on pieces, I hope you can understand and I will still be getting your pieces done before xmas! I just wanted to let you know whats been going on these past few days while I was waiting for my comp...haha..

What kind of drive was it, sometime there are still options to recover data, that most small repair services don't even think of?

Well it can still ba accessed through BIOS, but that wasnt the problem anymore its the fact now that it wont let anyone access it, and the dude said it basically fried itself, either due to overheating or just because it was a smaller drive. I'm still gonna buy a new HD and I'll get them to remove the original, and imma try different ways because I need that stuff, but im running outta time, so might as well start over

If you are lucky its only a corrupt MBR so it could be used again after a few commands

You could go to a formal data recovery place but they usually charge thousands. Sadly :(

Yeah....Luckily I was able to recover my convention merch files from my supplier sites but all my commission work from the last week is gone...and im on a time crunch before xmas soooo no time to wait anymore, might as well redo

What I recommend is to run a 2nd hard drive that just mirrors the first every few days on its own. I set that up for my mate and even when she wipes her files by accident she can just recover them in a minute. and of course its just assurance that you wont loose hard work! ^^
I hate when this happens. I'm this close to just putting everything on a cloud someplace and doing away with hard drives entirely. =P
