There Is More To Me Than Meets The Eye
For the past years Haiti have been getting the worst earthquakes in history and even though the rest of us in the Caribbean feels it the only one explanation is this see planet Earth has 3 Tectonic plate boundaries Convergent, Divergent and Gliding:
-Convergent Plate Boundaries:
These plates come together both the Oceanic and Continental plates move together and the heaviest which is the Oceanic plate goes into the mantle which is semi-liquid and the Oceanic plate gets destroyed and as that happens this lifts or pushes up the continental plate which is the lightest and forms ridges and mountains called volcanoes and these becomes and arc or islands as we call now the Caribbean.
-Divergent Plate Boundaries:
These plates move apart and this is the Oceanic plates separating as this happens magma comes up and with this occurring underwater as the magma gets closer to the top it cools adding more to the edge which now forms and as we call it the Oceanic ridge
-Gliding Plate Boundaries:
These Plate slide past each other this also would cause earthquakes and fault lines these plates would slide and when this happen small shock waves called tremors would be felt. Earthquakes are caused when the plates gets stuck and once they finally move this let go a powerful shock wave called an earthquake.
