Super Smash Bros Ultimate. (Spoiler Free)

General
As spoiler free as I can make it anyway. I will be speaking of things that you would see within the first hour or so of gameplay, so I will not be speaking of late game stuff.
This game is amazing, certainly the best Smash Bros game yet.
Smash 64 was a good proof of concept.
Melee was really fun.
Brawl was pretty dang good too.
I never played Smash 4 3DS and Smash 4 Wii U was, well, a step back. =/
But Ultimate fixes every problem that 4 Wii U had.
Much better Classic mode: instead of having to start at 9.0 and remain at that difficulty SSB-Ultimate lets you start at a max of 5.0, so Classic mode has a progressive difficulty increase. Also it's more of the usual straight forward Classic mode as opposed to how SSB-4 Wii U had that weird game board thing that could lead to some TERRIBLE fights. Classic Mode is also relatively short per character making the inevitable grind to clear it with all characters less bad.
Regular Smash Mode is still it's usual self, so not much to say here. =P
Now the newcomer is the World of Light mode. If this game was only World of Light there would be more than enough quality content to be worth the money spent. World of Light just keeps going and going. =P But the entire mode is pretty fun, even going for 100% it's still pretty fun. =3 The final boss is also INCREDIBLE!
And the only part of the game that was "unreasonable" was one certain World of Light boss on hard mode. Oh man screw that boss on Hard. >_>
Challenges: So in Melee the main challenge was collecting every trophy. One trophy was earned from getting all of the stage clear bonuses. I was never able to do it so I never got the Discun Trophy.
In Brawl they introduced Challenges, like Beat Classic on 9.0, beat Subspace Emissary and so on. The only Challenge that I could not clear here was Collect Every Sticker. Even with a custom sticker factory level I was never able to get every sticker...
In 4 Wii U... they went WAY too far with the challenges; Clear Classic on 8.0 with EVERY character, Clear All-Star on Hard with EVERY Character, Collect every Hat. The latter two I could not do, the All-Star one was just too much for me, and the hat one the RNG was just WAY too unfair and never gave me the final hat. =/
But the Ultimate has the most fair challenges yet! Aside from the Online Challenges (which I may get the 7 day free trial of Nintendo Online and get as many of those as I can) all of the challenges are actually fun and VERY doable. There are very few challenges that require doing everything with every character, nor is there much requirement for collecting 100% of certain things. The big collectible this time is Spirits. Spirits are basically things you can equip in the World of Light mode that can give you stat boosts and other effects. You could also consider them the Trophies of this game. There are 1,297 of them in total in the base game and there are at least 5 separate ways to acquire these spirits:
1: Beat Classic Mode
2: Buy them using coins
3: Progress through World of Light
4: Fight for Spirits in the "Spirit Board"
5: Sacrifice Spirits to Summon new Spirits.
The Spirit Board is a selection of 6-10 Spirits you can choose to fight. However the game has a VERY fair RNG that is more in favor of giving you brand new spirits, provided they aren't exclusive to the other 4 means of acquisition. So let's say you sacrifice 3 Spirits to get a Spirit that is exclusive to the Summoning process, well there is a high chance that those three will almost instantly appear in the Spirit Board. =O So if you want to collect all 1,297 Spirits then the process to achieve that is VERY tollerable, I know as I did it. =3
So if you are a completionist this game is VERY welcoming to your completionist ways. =3
Now there are a few minor nitpicks, but really they aren't TOO bad and I actually don't think there is much need to bring them up as they are minor.
As I said all I have left are the Online Challenges. I just have to turn off automatic updates on my Switch so Nintendo won't force me to spend eShop money on automatically forcing a paid membership on me. >_> Thank you for that though Nintendo...
But anyway, I REALLY love Super Smash Bros Ultimate, certainly the best in the series for me, I mean I my Switch says the game has been "played" for 100 hours so I must like it. =P

FA+

but i know ive play it close to that
now binding of issac says ive played it for 110 hours plus >.>
That so many spirits have an associated spirit battle, many of which are really creatively designed or thought out, that if you're familiar with the spirit you're challenging you can get a really good idea of the unique twists before jumping in.
Even challenging Legendary spirits is a lot of fun, once you're properly prepared. Even failure is not so bad, as the game gives you means of rematching. If you run out of the essential items you can just go play another mode until you get the things you need again.
One small complaint I had about spirit battles, is that many of them boiled down to equipping a spirit that disables a hazard, like lava floors or screen flips. Otherwise you could often plan a strategy for a spirit battle, and it works well.
Another gameplay complaint though, is that the camera work often favoured the CPU, as the camera no longer shows when an item spawns.
Because of this, the CPU would somehow know that the item is there, even though you outright cannot see it. I really hope they address that in a patch.
Yeah, too many were just sacrificing 2 support slots just to mitigate the hazard, and often times it was just thrown in because, like the one "The Boss" challenge, even knowing MGS3 I find no logic to the poison floor. =U
Ahh yes, I had noticed that.
One gripe I have is you can't zoom out to see what spirits you have left in world of light, seriously the camera was way too close in the world map(s).
And whilst I do think there should be a penalty for continuing like a reduction in difficulty and rewards, I'm glad that Ultimate lets you spend a classic ticket to mitigate that, even if it's a costly decision.
There are a lot of different Metal Gear games, it's entirely possible that there was a scenario in one of the games that involved poison.
Sometimes, it's just a thematic thing like with Pyra being a fire element blade in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Things like the Paper Bowser fight where he turns invulnerable and only star rods will spawn, is also just great, it shows a suprising amount of detail.
Even things like Dan loving to taunt and being one of the easiest spirit battles in the game, is faithful to the source material.
The map navigation in world of light is frustrating yes, I'm surprised the zoom-out doesn't show the spaces, only the key objects to interact with.
You can pan using the C-stick but that still makes it hard to find leftover spirits.
That is true, at least Classic tickets are costly to get.
Of the four I have played it made no sense. =/ The Boss is from MGS 3 and there was nothing like that in there.
That is true.
And the insulting thing is that when Galeem spits of those area orbs the camera zooms out and you can see adjacent spirits. =P
The C Stick panning helps, but only so much.
A 9.0 run on 3DS was still challenging, but it didn't feel unfair. Honestly, it may be years late but it might be worth giving the 3DS version a try if you can somehow find a cheap copy. It's still a step back from Ultimate though.
Yeah, the classic tickets are too expensive to consider purchasing, but they appear to be a somewhat regular reward for clearing Classic Mode on high intensity.
I guess not all of the spirit battles can be winners.
Yeah, overall the map UI could've been better, at least navigating the map itself doesn't take too long, but sometimes it's difficult to visualise the paths you can walk.
The Pauline one is a pain, Peach avoids combat while Mario and DK and harassing you, and on the 25M stage. =P
That fight drove me nuts after six attempts. Same with the Sonic one where he's assisted by that annoying Sukapon.
Oh yes, that one was a pain, same for The Boss where you fight against Zero Suit Samus.
Oh god, that one was another hair-puller. I lost count of how many attempts it took me. Finally nailed her when she had a little HP left and I just immediately spammed a Ray Gun when it appeared.
