TOP 10 Moments of 2018 (Ranked)
Friends! Inspired by somebody else who made such a list, I thought it would be neat to highlight some of the great personal moments from this past year. As always, thank you guys for reading and all. nwn
#10: Detroit, Become Human
Almost unanimously viewed as a good, yet kind of forgettable game, I have been waiting for Detroit for such a long time. I fell in love with Heavy Rain, and have been hungry for a game like this. I played, and it delivered. There was happiness and heartache. I'm not sure if anybody was as hyped about this game as I was, hah.
#9: My first clean sheet
A little context for those who don't know. In soccer, if the goalkeeper on a team doesn't allow the other team to score even once throughout the entire game, it'd known as a clean sheet. I have been seriously playing soccer for a few years now, and have never gotten one. Until this last season. First game, diving save, keep the opponent at zero. Felt great. <3

#8: 2018 World Cup
Pretty self explanatory. Always a blast to be a part of a fun, global competition and representing my country(s). <3
#7: Trisha Paytas: LIVE
Okay, so I miiiiight've dropped like $300 on a Youtuber's cheesy live show, but I got a meet and greet and got to eat pizza with them, so, worth.
#6: New Computer
Yeeees, I finally have a desktop computer that can actually play games! Mostly having a blast being able to hang out with my buds when they're gaming. uwu
#5: 2018 Midterm Elections
I'm a very politically active person, so I spent a lot of the past 2 years worrying about these midterms. And let's just say there was a huge sigh of relief on November 9th
#4: Smash Bros. Ultimate
What a year for games, hah. Not only has Smash Ultimate been super duper fun, it's great to see all my friends and I rally around and play games together. I feel pretty good about my skills, and I'm hoping to develop them further! Huge anticipation for this game, and everything that came out of it just made it great. From the hype train to day 1.
#3: FC 2018
Further Confusion has always been one of the biggest highlights of my year, and this year was no different. Rooming with some of the best friends a wuff could ask for, making new ones at their awesome poker tourney, and broadening my horizons are just some of the highlights.
#2: 21st Birthday
I think a lot of folks have fond memories of their 21st birthday, and it has something to do with drinking. Not quite with me. Something way better. My co-workers, who maybe I consider friends, got me a cake and had a nice little celebration. Which maybe doesn't mean a lot to a lot of folks, but to someone like me who is often in the background, kind of forgotten, and just a very minor part of folks' lives, it felt good to feel cared about~ And if that wasn't enough, my family threw together a surprise party for me. I honestly thought this birthday was going to be no big deal. I didn't feel like I was the kind of person that people would care enough about to throw something like a surprise party. Maybe I was wrong. <3
#1: Hanford Vacation
I'm sure the feeling is common, especially with folks who understand depression. Sometimes feeling down gives you feelings that you need to run away. Get out of that situation. Well, I was going through a particularly hard spell earlier this year, and although the odds were very much against me in every way, I was finally able to pack my bags, and visit one of my long time friends up north. From the outside, taking a few days to visit an online friend doesn't sound like much, but damn did it mean the world. Everyone I met was just so fucking nice to me. I did eventually come down from that depressive episode. I understand that a lot of folks can't do what I did. They can't go from a toxic to a good environment when they don't feel well, so for that I'm grateful. And will always hold this memory fond. <3

I know that sense of relief from getting your first shut out as a soccer goalie, too. I've had maybe a handful in my career over the past 20 years. It never gets old to feel that satisfaction or not to think about it when you're close to getting one, especially when doing indoor. Most memorable one I've had was in a tournament years ago when I played on a travel team, except the game ended in a 0-0 tie because I had no offense.

Yeah, I started playing when I was 7, during my first season in recreational league I gave it a shot one game and we won 8-1, with the lone goal being over my head. And normally at the time our coach would rotate us at goalie throughout the game, switching every quarter, but he noticed how I was doing so kept me in the whole game. From that point I just fell in love with the position because I thought it was fun getting to dive around and stop the ball. Beyond that I've only scored 3 goals in all the years I've been playing, one of which in high school on JV.
