Twitter is NOT a Gallery

-- DEVIANTART -- WEASYL -- SOFURRY -- TWITTER -- BLUESKY -- Seriously, riddle me this, why are so many artists seemingly using exclusively twitter to post art when it is not a gallery in the slightest. I have been going through one artists feed to find that like 75% of what he has made is not posted to FA and it has taken well over half hour to get through just a tiny fraction of his full feed. There is no optimal search tool for just displaying media that I can see.
I mean it take an extra, what, 3 minutes to post something to FA and not really edit it at all, just select the rating and add like a word or two to the description like you did on Twitter.
And the 15 pieces that I have found and liked enough to save would have taken someone on FA half the time if not one-fourth the time to get through all of them because they would have all be on a single page.
Also you are literally excluding like 90% of your audience when doing this especially for those that have no use for a twitter.
Some one give me a rational answer to why an artist would post tons of stuff to a non-gallery site and basically alienate 90% of their audience from their work.

And yet, I notice no difference in speed of the sites and because Twitter does not load discrete pages, the farther back you go, the slower the loading gets, which is the issue Tumblr had for continuous feeds, so you can really only go back like a year.
Also, I really hate filtering through posts like "Getting off of work early, yay." I don't need to know this, this was pointless to post unless you are so egocentric that you think your life is so important for people to know what is going on day to day.
I think its because they want a more social place to be thats not exclusively Furry
Ive found that the few people I do follow on there (I made one for the fuck of it years ago) se it literally to socialize, share thoughts (often dumb, meaningless, waste of time, Shitposting, or Political) and to post memes. Then of course artists like to use it as a scrapbook for WIPs.
I think also because its ""Social Media"" a FUCKTON more people are on it and they can use that to reach out and discover or promote to other fandoms. TYhen all the Hashtagging, retweets & sharing stuff is basically a good way to network and explore new things.
\And with that networking they get more reach which gets new customers.
On the flipside...its cluttereds to fuck. I almost wish it did have a "Gallery" mode so I could filter and see what I actually want to see.
ANd im probly just an old man, but I hate how the site works....
If some things were ajusted...Id probly use it more.
I tried the facebook thing, and it just ate so much of my life and became so meaningless. And socializing is fine, but that is why there are IM's and stuff, and I tend to bounce ideas off of friends because I know they will give me better feedback because many have been there. The whole shitposting thing is so trivial, why would anyone care if you broke a plate or got off work early other than your friends, like who actually gives a damn?
And no, you are not an old man because I am the same way, Like it would take just as little time to post the images here.
Otherwise, If I can give twitter anything, it has wider audience Potential.
For the most part I just ignore anyone that is twitter exclusive and get mildly irritated when artists do 'twitter exclusive' raffles and the like. Literally only reason I got a Twitter years ago was because there were folks that would open for commissions or do raffles that were 'exclusive to Twitter'.
I just can't do twitter at all, because I would have nothing to post and feel it would be useless other than to see what artists are posting, it'd turn into inkbunny for me, because I do not post to inkbunny at all and am only there to see certain artists art.
Weasyl & Furrynetwork never got off the ground. All Flash LOOK AT ME IM AN FA KILLER...annnnnndddd nothing
And inkbunny, people avoid that place because its where all the Cub stuff is. And people wont use Tag Filter.
Sorry to be nosey, just wanted to Chime in
