Eyes: green (sometimes with cat-like slits for pupils)
Unusual Physical Features:
May appear with her split-tail, cat-ears, cat-like eyes, whiskers, claws, or even with fur. Sometimes has piercings generally always the lip piercing, shapeshifting enables her many odd characteristics and lots of Maleability for her many forms.. (Her common forms are Human, were-cat, and nekomata, as well as a male Samurai form to fool people.) Usually wears the topknot unless in public. Also has a rather curvy and soft frame, with a very large bust, despite working out so much. This is also to fool people.
Personality/Temperament:
Quirky and sultry. She doesnt get angry or sad often, but for the most part is sensual and lusty. This used to be a ploy to force Opponents to let their guard down around her, often using sex as her main weapon. Sometimes she acts like a geisha rather then a samurai, attentive, caring and graceful. She's quick to choose the sword if her flirts fail, never backing down when she does. In her werecat form, her curiosity peeks, sometimes causing her to forget fights just so she can investigate the subject of her curiosity. This is why she sometimes avoids her werecat form. Confident, fearless, and strong willed, Torenko doesnt think much about human life, seeing it as fleeting and short, but does realize the importance of humans in general and, in turn sometimes ends up caring for them. She can come off as pushy to the meek, but she has no qualms with taking things slow, a sign of a strong motherly instinct. She also has no objections to her body, and is often considered an exhibitionist, for her love of public nudity. possibly meant to fool people...
Powers: Ghost Fire, walking on air, shapeshifting, illusions, able to consume and digest anything (must consume something to take it's form) can see, communicate with, and sense ghosts, keen senses, can revive the dead as puppets by jumping over a corpse (must remain in range of the corpse or it will die again) & several undiscovered powers. Also, must consume poison, it acts as nutrients for her powers. Stronger poisons in large doses can make her drunk, but leave her highly energized.
History:
A blue cat was born along a riverbank in Japan and left to die. This was around the time that cats werent welcome, and seen as servants of evil. A mother Tanuki found the kitten and took care of it. She raised the kitten as If it were one of it's own, and when the kitten was old enough, she left it in the care of a Samurai's wife.
Hanako watched the house and took care of it while her husband set off to fight for their land, often times he was gone for very long periods of time. She was young for a bride, and got lonely, so the young cat would make an excellent companion. She named the cat Junko, and raised it like a child.
The cat followed Hanako around the house as she did her chores and grew fat. Legends had told that when a cat reached a certain age or certain weight, their tail split and they became enlightened, and Junko had reached that weight in no time. One morning her tail split, and she began to understand the chores that Hanako did, and the words that she spoke, and the feelings she felt. Junko left for a short while, exploring and discovering her newly found intellegence and powers, now a Nekomata.
Upon returning to the house, Hanako wasnt pleased, the notion of a 'demon cat' wasnt something she was willing to appreciate, and so she tried to kill it. However Junko utilized her new found powers to trick the girl with illusions, and instead, Killed Hanako.
After consuming the girl, the nekomata took her human form, continuing chores until the samurai returned. After he returned and introduced her to the pleasures of sex, he began an intense training schedule, still unknowing of his true wife's death. One day Junko intruded on his training, drunk and horny. Before he could perfom the rite of 'Kirisute Gomen' and take off her head for her foolishness, she kissed him, delivering just the right amount of poison to silence him. She revived the corpse and travelled with it, using it as a puppet to get what she needed. Finally having a suit of armor and a sword crafted just for her.
After a few dissappearances by village women, she blended them into a form to suit her needs. Junko and her samurai puppet did assasinations and guard-jobs for hire until one day her puppet rotted and she was forced to settle down for a short while. She collected oddities, and trained at the surrounding temples. One day she met a great warrior lord, whom actually kept up with her combat skills. The two became training partners and soon, lovers. He had a great ability to sense life signs, giving him a strategic advantage to blind combat. His men were very successful because of this gift.
However before they could be wed, she became pregnant, her lord's gift told her so. Seven months later, the lord, Junko, her armor and katana, the doctor, and the baby all vanished. Junko had taken on a new form, a new name, and a new life. Torenko Hiraku was born, stealing her form from a foreign geisha and a few other women from the town. She took her collection of oddities in a cart, and left. Her travelling led her to many wonders, fierce battles, and powerful enemies.
Hundreds of years later, she took to America, just before the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasake. She often wonders what made her move, taking it as an Omen. Currently she resides in New york City, in a charming penthouse appartment. Her collection has grown, and her appearance has changed slightly, more current, but her love of the samurai ways is still as strong as her blades are sharp. She now collects supernatural beings, locating and befriending the various oddities that grace our world. Still a lover of battle, she's befriended some highly powerful creatures, and often frequents a club around the block from her home called 'F-Gasm,' which welcomes supernatural wonders. She's made some terrifying enemies in her travels, and to this day is still haunted by beings who just wont die. However her motley crew of friends keep her safe and entertained, just what this nekomata girl needs.
