like reference is the Crane formation, pinser formation and crab formations
i guess theyb e called formations like differnt names of any formation... even to the least effective to the effective or any your ideas of formatoin yet if you do give own idea describe it [it may go into the d20 game im building for the tactics skill and stuff.

Infantry First three Lines, Roman Maniple formation, Phalanx, Double Line formation, Squard, Wedge, Shield Wall, Line formation, Echelon, thats all I can think about on the top of my head.
