2018 in review -> looking to 2019

A quick journal as the year ends:
-I didn’t have the best 2018 on a personal level. I’m disappointed in myself for not sticking with my resolutions - I’m still working the same job, I’m still living in the same apartment - but at the same time, I managed to learn a lot about myself and my friends. Earlier this year I started therapy, and while I’ve had setbacks, it’s been great for my mental health, with the side effect of helping me learn more about myself and become a better person. When imposter syndrome sets in, I remind myself I wouldn’t be surrounded by the friends I have, both furry and human, if I wasn’t doing something right.
-This year was huge for me writing-wise. I stopped counting my word count for the year when I topped 250,000, and it’s probably somewhere around 275k total. Commissions gave me the confidence to get better at my personal writing, which then made my commissions better, and so on and so forth. I want to thank everyone who has commissioned me, or traded with me, or worked with me. It’s been fun making more friends in the community!
-I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Adrion, who convinced me to start
TheAnthroholics which has been a ton of fun. It’s deepened our friendship and helped us meet new friends, even inspiring us to lead a panel at Furpoc!
-I also want to shout out all of my other furry friends, new and old! I’m not gonna list everyone because I’d forget some and I don’t wanna make anyone feel bad
-Going into 2019, I want to focus on improving my writing further and possibly deepening my business. I’ll be opening commissions in the next week or so, once I finish my outstanding story and get chapter 3 of Charitable Corpulence done, and I’m really hoping to set aside more time to consistently write. Work can be hard, my social life can eat up a lot of time, but I’ll work hard and make this next year a good one!
-If you have any recommendations or advice for me going into 2019 - things you want to see from me, things I could do to improve - please don’t hesitate to leave a comment on this journal telling me!
Happy new year, everyone!
