Amazing news!

So a lot of you know I'm not entirely happy with my job, and I started taking commissions almost 18 months ago because I needed some extra scratch to help make ends meet.
Well... this afternoon, I was offered, and accepted, a new job that's only 15 minutes away that comes with a 66 percent pay increase over my last job. And opportunities for growth. And better benefits. And more vacation time. Which is CRAZY. I still feel like I'm going to wake up from this dream.
So, yeah, that's pretty exciting! I start at the end of the month. What does this mean?
-My schedule is going to be a lot tighter, as my hours will not be nearly as flexible as they were at my old job. At the same time, I've been craving that consistency, so it's a good thing. It does mean I'll have a lot less random free time that I use to write.
-I've become reliant on commissions to the point where I'm at the state of constant burnout recently, so after I finish my crop of January commissions, I'm going to take a step back from writing, focusing more on personal stories and projects when I do. I'll still be able to take on commissions periodically, for instance if I'd like to save up for something, but I might end up increasing my prices again if my free time becomes less readily available. I'll make up for it with some interesting side projects and some collaborations; I've already got one in the early stages with one of my favorite writers on here, and I'm excited to see where that goes.
-Less weed stuff. Not saying I'm giving up the ganj entirely, but I've gotta grow up a little if I want a stable career.
-The other side of that: I'll have more spending money, so I might be able to hit up a few more cons here and there. ANE? Anthrocon? Who knows?
On New Year's Eve, I was in a dark place, and Adrion texted me, telling me he knew 2019 was going to be my year. I doubted him, but... yeah, things are looking up for the wolf right now!

Glad to know you got someone like Adrion to back you up like that. He's heard me out and given me some encouragement as well, and all you folks on Discord, if I haven't spoken with them much yet, have at least been okay by me so far. But others, particularly Adrion and Kat, have been really nice to speak with and I'm glad to have come across you and your pals.
Here's to a continued good new year!
