Taking our cat to get fixed

Lately he hasn’t been eating the food he has been fed, plus he has gotten a bump on his nose and a red mark underneath his belly. So today we took him to the vet to hopefully remedy this dilemma and wish to Mino he is back to his old self.
UPDATE: Our cat has started eating again and is returning back to his old playful self. The doctors and vet were of little to no help and we were almost about to pay upwards of $700 just to attempt to diagnose our cat. Why bother seeking help nowadays if the goal of healthcare these days is taking money out of our wallets?

Oh, fixed/healed, not fixed/neutered. The title threw me a second. Hope the vet tells you it's something boring, common, and easily addressed.

the vet has been little help to us. The pet hospital was even worse and they refused to get him x-rayed.

Sorry to hear that. Do you have any other vet clinics besides those two?
