Is anyone else having problems with this Piranha plant thing

Like, I bought the Smash edition switch just for this damn game, so of course I had the game preordered, and I didnt get sent any code for the piranha plant dlc during the wait for the game or even after the game was released, so I figured "maybe theyre waiting for the character to be officially announced to release the codes"
Everyone's getting their codes, but I havent gotten mine yet.
Did I do somethin wrong??

I thought as long as you redeemed the gold points or whateve and had a digital copy you were good and would just get the plant automatically.

I did, and I also bought the game digitally
You need to check your emails from when you ordered the game. Nintendo should have sent an email around then with a code to activate the dlc. It may be in your spam or promotions mail like mine was.
