who needs a furry convention? Get a few people together at a private little
house party, or like you did with the bowling alley. This way, you know who
is there and you know they will behave them selves, and you can relax and
just enjoy each others company, share some foods, have a good ol time =)

I'm done with furry cons as the people I want to hang out with aren't there. Too many triggered people at cons as well. I don't identify with any of them.

I think your reasons and mine are similar. Too many young and intolerant 'tolerant' furries. Hows about we just simply plan a small backyard ol fashioned Bar B Q this summer? That's always been a fun event in my past.

Yep. Skwirl and me were in Acadia a few years ago.... but the day we were there it was so danged foggy, we went up Cadillac mountain road. By the time we passed maybe 800-1000nft point, we couldn't see more than 20 ft in front of us.... that's one reason I'd like to go there again, when its clear. Also, 'twas the last days of lobsta seaon, we couldn't find but 1 or 2 lobsta pounds open. We did find the best shore side lobster roll place, but just open in its last 2 hours of the season... O well.

So yeah, we need to go there again. I think we'd enjoy that more than a 3000+ crowd of intolerant leftist and sexually confused kiddies dressed like radioactive vulpines.

I know another fursuiter who posted that he's avoiding AC this year. The rooms are $200 a night! What are they in Vegas?

I can and have done Vegas for half of what anthrocon costs me. Anthrocon costs about $1600 for the week: supersponsor,parking fuel tolls room for the week. Just not a good ROI. I've been doing AC for 18 years straight. Not anymore.

Yup. How about ya come over here on the 4th? I live about a mile from the fairground park. They have a splendid fireworks display, so close that a 10 minute walk puts you right under it. Maybe a good ol BBQ evening can be arranged, too.

I'm still going this year, but at the rate the prices keep going up, maybe not for too much longer, or else I'll get a less expensive room outside of the center of town and commute in. My van makes a convenient changing room.

I will be going but that's ok if you're not. I don't think everyone enjoys the size of the con. It's just too big and people tend to get overloaded. I've missed a few years here and there, too. It's not like this will be the last one, you know.

I was Anthrocon for 18 hours last year. It was a quick in and out and got everything done I wanted to.

Maybe you should do a day trip?
