When you make a friend in real life, your friendship with them can create a bond that could last forever. But when you make a friend with someone on the internet, it's like skating on thin ice. It's easier to cause permanent damage to the relationship, so you don't know which soft spots that you shouldn't skate over. And because of that, losing them for good is no challenge when you don't even mean to. And because you don't know, it just increases paranoia, thus shaking the friendship even more. Perhaps, it is because the internet friend doesn't wish to be treated as a person and would rather have you kiss their feet. And yet, you couldn't help but spill your guts to them.
