“When you shall say, "As others do, so will I. I renounce, I am sorry for it, my early visions; I must eat the good of the land, and let learning and romantic expectations go, until a more convenient season." — then dies the man in you;” - Ralph W. Emerson
What's the most astonishing displays of unhelpfulness you can remember in your life?
I remember about 3 years ago, I think I was taking pre-calculus, because I had to, and I couldn't do jack shit. Well, our school had a room called the MAC room. It was specifically for math help so I was sent there by an aide. Well, thing is is when I got there, they told me they didn't know what "calculus" is, and then started talking amongst themselves trying to figure out what I said and they did this for about ten minutes before they just started small talk and one guy told me to just sit down and do my work...I mean, I could do the same shit in class or at home. I just left because that was just ridiculous how unhelpful they were.

Ooh, I got a juicy one: my mom made me look up SAT II Social Studies tutoring, once again overestimating my hopelessly incompetent school, and the an office staff told me that a teacher was holding some of that. Then the said teacher told me when I went to ask that it was Reagents Geometry. So when I went back to the office, they said to ask again, and the teacher said the same thing a second time. I gave up.

I could've put the time some teachers stopped me after class to lecture me about how they "couldn't" do anything about a kid who threw pencils and called these same teachers "bitches" in class, but that's about as sad as it is funny. Math teachers not knowing what calculus is is just plain ridiculous.
True. It’s mad ironic
