A bit of Bad News

Recently, I started to feel pain on my left foot that made me barely to walk.
It felt bad one day, a little better yesterday and got worse today.
I went to Urgent Care to see what was wrong with it. It appears to be a torn ligament, but they asked me to do bloodwork and X-ray to make sure I don’t have Gout.
While I was watching the Oscars, a phone call came by for the results of the Blood... ...and now I’m diagnosed with Gout.

This was the worst news I have ever received in my life. Understandably I got very upset feeling that I failed myself.

So please, just send me some support for me to get through this. I beg you,

Oh gosh im so sorry *hugs* I had a wound on my ankle last year and when I went to the doctor, they ran a A1c test on me, found out I was type 2 diabetic with an 8.3 score. It was horrible, I have since lost almost 40 pounds, lowered my score down to 6.2. But I still am dealing with an occasional sore on my ankle due to a vascular condition. I personally just take each day as it comes and adjust accordingly.

So sorry that happened, I don't have gout but I do have a torn ACL so I know what you're going through with the ligament

well make sure you find a good foot dr to get a proper diagnosis and treatment... it will make all the difference... it may even be something else because gout is usually more physically evident with swelling.

Hope you get a second opinion, see a good doc and if its true, you can help counter it with diet and some usually OTC medications.

How exactly have you "failed yourself"? As we age, medical issues can and do arise. I have always done my best to take care of my body and yet I am dealing with high blood pressure, elevated serum calcium levels, and I even had a third of my large intestine hacked out in 2003. I don't know what makes people believe that we are all entitled to eighty or so years of disease-free, pain-free living, but that is not reality. Listen to everything your doctor tells you, and things will go as best they can.

ok, im not sure on what sunfire

sunfire is saying about his medical condition, but im sure he is treating it every way he can, except for the intestine hacking, sorry to say, but I will say, hope you get your condition taken care of as well.
