its always been like that, nsfw can't be publicly available because minors could access it on their website and it would be a problem for them. nsfw content/any nudity would either need to be cropped/heavily censored, or pay walled. its in the terms of service.

I understand the reasoning behind it, but they already make you flag your entire page as nsfw at the start of it and remove you from any searches because of it. If my entire page is flagged as nsfw , minors shouldn’t be able to find or access it anyway.

it is removed from the search function of patreon. however, if you have linked your patreon on your page, and a minor who follows the link clicks it, they are able to access the content that is NSFW on patreon and then patreon gets in trouble

its super annoying, I had to flag my page as nsfw too even though I dont post explicit content directly to patreon, only mature/nudity :U even just like, a formal oil painting of an artistic nude isnt ok to share publicly on there

Yeah for real. Nsfw content creators really get shafted super hard on public platforms. Deviant art doesn’t allow nsfw content either so like, I’m unsure what their 18 plus rating is even FOR

It's done as a way to prevent Patreon from going the same way Tumblr did and being forced to either outright ban NSFW work or put restrictions in place so it doesn't. I don't think it's an unreasonable request if it means keeping your account intact and not having it outright deleted and having NSFW content outright restricted.

it's not unreasonable, it's just annoying and frankly unnecessary since there are already restrictions in place to keep minors from viewing my content.

Ill admit...i learned how to surf the web well FAR too early in life to stay innocent.....and in this day and age? when were giving 5 year old IPADs and smart phones :/...yeah...webs a way of life now..and there aint a lot of parents that KNOW let along would be WILLING to actually control what they're kids see

in that case kids will be able to see whatever they want anyway. the only place they could POSSIBLY get access to my patreon since it doesnt show up in any searches per patreons rules is through my very nsfw 18+ Fa account or my nsfw 18+ flagged twitter since that is the only place it's advertised.
