If you consider the oil pressure failure and the subsequent tow as two separate bad things then you’ve reached your quota. Yes, it does work that way.
Running out of fuel oil just sucks. At least it wasn’t at the beginning of the week when it was so bitter cold.

UGH, yeah, I've dealt with the laws of threes before. Last time it ended with my late wife getting cancer.

I hadn't thought of that. I had to purge the delivery line of water and S#!^ but I got the furnace restarted today. At least I didn't have to replace the filter & nozzle like I did the last time.

My first house had an oil furnace that I swear the house had to have been built around it as it was too big to have been installed after construction.
I kept several nozzles for it. When one clogged, I'd swap them out and clean the one I just removed.
Finally replaced the old beastie when I discovered the fire brick was almost gone. They literally turned to dust when they were touched to be removed.

Similar thing here... I had to cut my old furnace to pieces with a sawzall and cutting torch. It was probably 40 years old. The new one's been in service for about 10 years now and I had it checked last yeay and was told it had a crack in the firebox. They pulled a fast one on me 'cause a 2nd opinion revealed nothing wrong. I normally service it myself, but about every 5 yrs I get it professionaly checked.

I am glad you shut the engine off in your Jeep to prevent damage, but yeah, now to find out why, hope it was only a clogged pick up screen. Running out of fuel oil sux, at least it was not in February when it was in the negative digits for temp, but still cold enough to make it damned uncomfortable ! I hope the repair bill for the Jeep won't be too bad and the tow bill wasn't too bad !

Being a diesel tech, I've SEEN the damage caused by no oil. Jeep's in the garage now. I read on the web that apparently the 3.7l engine is prone to OP sensor failures, I hop that's all it is.

Our CAP meeting site at the local airport was a quonset hut heated with fuel oil.
