I'm sorta on both sides of this, I feel that there are stupid questions but that doesn't mean the person asking is stupid. Sometimes a question of confirmation can be seen as stupid.. for example " Ripe Gala Apples are Red " " So they are Red when Ripe?" " Yes" ... of course the question was asked and it was sort of stupid because he was just given the information but it was to be clear of what the information was. Another example would be someone asking a person who was just shot if it hurts .. sounds stupid but it's a valid medical question as if he wasn't feeling any pain.. there maybe some serious nerve damage or something alike.
So I guess to say there are stupid questions but it's not stupid to ask them and it's certainly stupid to dismiss them.

I mean if you ask the stupid question to Sal in a social gathering, such as if we were at a bar and chatting the shit and all that, then it would be just silly banter
If you ask the stupid question while Sal is working, then you would get a completely different reaction

In that content then, for me it would still depends when and where you're asking. Silly question whiles hanging out drinking? That's fine and probably makes for good banter. Silly question whiles at work... I tend to get that sort of thing from the customers I deal with, but I can't blame them, some of them aren't exactly tech literate, I bet i'd be asking the same thing to them too

As long as you're being serious then no there are no stupid questions. If you aren't then yes there are lots of stupid questions you could ask.

Yes. If someone's being genuine and really wants to know something ( even if it may seem obvious or trivial to you ) then it's not a stupid question. It might be frustrating but it's not a stupid question.

In my life, there's no stupid questions but there are some stupid people like when you try asking something to make sure you're doing something right and they have a go at you for being dumb!!
