...I'm really not having any luck with my laptop, I think recently it overheated. Either that or it knows I've been using a desktop that performs better at SL and FR than it that it decided to lock up. In any case, I came back up to check on some downloads I was doing and come to find they had indeed finished after several weeks of run time. However when I go to try to remove them, the cursor failed to move. I had felt the computer (close to the touch pad and just over the power button) and came to find that the computer was running really, really hot. So I go to take the battery out and the hard drive to let them cool down from the excess heat. Once cooled, I go to replace the hard drive back to where it goes and boot up the laptop. It boots like normal but once it passed the HP logo, it stayed blank for a longer than normal amount of time; I immediately knew something was wrong. The computer gave me a wonderous message 'Operating system not found.' so I turn off my laptop again and recheck the hard drive and its connection. Somehow, the contacts aren't meeting they way they normally do, which explained why it failed to load correctly. The major thing is, I'm not sure how the cover for the hard drive bay, the brace that allows easy removal of the hard drive from the bay, and the screw slots where the cover holds the hard drive in place by the brace got so misaligned to force the hard drive out of where it should be. Also, for some reason I think the one fan on the underside of the laptop might be failing to do what it should, that would be the only reason I could think of that could cause excessive heat over the power button apart from the probability of the duct being blocked by dust and such. I need a new computer -.- badly... but I highly doubt that would ever happen any time soon with the way things are for me...
