I made this post on twitter, but would be good here as well!

And I could feel their anxiety high! And I feel this way as well, unless the artist says fixes are allowed.
SO PLEASE, if you show updates/the finished piece and you'd be okay with revisions, even if small (or big) please say so when you show!! It should help out those with anxiety a bit more, letting them know it's okay to ask for changes.
I've had horrible anxiety over commissions I've gotten, because they didn't show me wips (when in their ToS they'd show at least one for an approval) and then send it and say they hope I like it. There ends up being a lot of small mistakes that could have been fixed if they showed me a wip, or that could even be fixed on the final piece... but since they didn't say to me directly that I can ask for changes, my anxiety shoots up and I don't say anything at all. Some artists can get really angry, or be passive aggressive about it, and that scares me. I'm trying to do better with asking for changes (which is why I try to find people who WILL show wips and who WILL work with clients) but gosh it can be hard. :c
Because of my own anxiety, almost every time I show an update to a client, I let them know that I can fix anything or if I forgot anything to let me know. I want them to feel better with telling me I did something wrong! It will make the piece better in the end. ;3;
Because of this, I'm also thinking of allowing small fixes on "trust me" commissions. These types of commissions do give me anxiety from time to time since the point is they get no updates (because it's cheap and they are trusting me) but there are times I still forget tiny things. kjdfklsdjfblk
I heavily prefer working on commissions where I can show updates. xD;;
BUT YEAH!! Please keep these things in mind! ;w;

As an artist I try really hard to be inviting when it comes to making adjustments. I don't usually do WIPs either because taking a pause in the work burns me out really quickly. The longer I spend working on it and thinking about it and judging it, it triggers my own anxiety and I start to become afraid of working on it, so I do much better when I can go through a piece all in one go. It's like a part of my brain thinks, "I've sent this out, that means it's done," and then when I get the go-ahead to finish, it thinks, "Wait, this one was done, why are we still doing it?" and it panics over having to do it "again." Even if I know that's not really what's happening, Anxiety Brain doesn't always listen to logic. I always give the option of providing WIPs if they ask, and a lot of the time send them out anyway if I feel I need feedback, and of course I'm always happy to make corrections. It's my job to make a piece my customer is happy with, after all!
