Mmmnyeeaaah, I guess, but it doesn't change the fact that we're kinda effed with this (And it's coming from someone living in EU). If anything, I'm waiting with a giant bag of popcorn, because one thing is for sure. Now, all the companies and all the political parties and everything else that supported it are in for a giant and prolonged hacking, because I'm pretty damn sure every single organized and disorganized group of tech savvy guys will fight back. Remember what happened during ACTA 1 with 4chan/anons?

Oh I am German, living in the US, left Germany a couple years ago because all that bull.
All I expect is that not all websites will bend over for the EU and just cut service for EU countries.

Maybe, but let's just say that most Americans I've come across have acted in a fairly similar manner... Laughing at the inept actions across the sea, whilst oblivious to their own failings.

Well, having grown up in Germany until I left on my own account and settled in overseas, I have gotten exact that feeling just reversed, elitist acting on Germans' side, calling out Americans as primitive and whatnot. There is always two sides to that but if I call out the EU as 'a scummy, ultra-capitalist union' as you say, believe me, I do so as one of it's still citizens.

And believe me I wish It was a bit more on the ultra capitalist side as it would mean I would get to keep a bit more of my earn.

I don't think Germans are the only ones to call Americans "primitive." Everyone I've ever spoken with here in Sweden, save one guy, has been very disappointed in the last American election. And with how that man has acted since, there's been little change in that attitude... It's like Fallout 76: Everything in its wake has been controversy and mismanagement, with only the most die-hard followers still holding on to their faith in a good outcome.
And just in case you've followed our idiots for politicians: Fuck them too. It took almost three months, THREE MONTHS, just to agree on a government! It's disgusting! Although since everything is a paperwork nightmare here, I guess it fits with the mold... But at least now we've got something that works, and it doesn't rile too many feathers. :/

Psh, I've limited faith in capitalism. Sure it's better than communism, but only because it actually works with humans. Yet I've always thought of capitalism as a sort of civil barbarism. Power is all that matters, not what you do with it. And because of that, we constantly get businesses that grow like a cancer: Morphing into hideous beasts that serve only to grow themselves even further, even if that means ending everything around and within them. It's how Jim Sterling likes to put it: Making even is not good enough for these people. They have to continually grow, even when that's simply not possible.
But again, it's the best we have right now, so... Make that moola! :D

Ah but once again, I'm not only ranting into eternity, I'm also getting away from the point: Article 13 (now renamed Article 17, because reasons) has passed, and it's a bad thing. We all agree on that. Just don't think you're better off in the US. They've got their own bullshit laws, their own truths they'd rather not have contested...

Driving a car that would never be allowed on German roads due to it's modifications,
Polishing my gun collection that I would get raided for in good old Germany,
Saying things... SAYING THINGS... that can get me imprisoned in my home country, (Take that free speech)
And paying a tax rate so low that it would be unthinkable back there. (Less than half of what I'd pay in Germany)

Americans who've never lived overseas don't get to complain about america. It's great here. :/
