At least they have not blatantly lied to their customers about it being on Steam first.
So, as much as I don't like the exclusivity... I gotta respect that they immediately said it will be there.
As for me, that just means it's gonna be an extra year of beta before I get my hands on it, heh.
I wouldn't mind the EGS so much... If they'd just act as real competition, if they'd fix their damn store, gave a crap about customer privacy and protection...
Exclusivity is garbage, no matter how you look at it. Keeping things from different consoles, or even different game launchers... It's just hostile to customers.
I guess I'll be waiting 6 months for the real release.
The problem with Epic Games is... well Fortnite.
I know enough people that are so tired and annoyed with it, want nothing to do with it.
I am like that myself. And I just dont want any of it on my damn pc. So yeah, their launcher and store are a no go for me.
Not to mention, Epic is owned by Tencent, a chinese company, and I find it hard to trust companies that label themselves as... "multinational investment holding conglomerate" They're... really not a good company.
I do have epic games store mostly for the Unreal engine. I MAY buy the game since I love the other games in the series, and they may add it to steam later but who knows.
Yeah, for me, I wouldn't be wanna found dead with the Epic launcher on my pc and as much love as I had for the franchise, i kinda feel my excitement fading.
You gotta remember, it was probably not even Gearbox’s choice. 2K is their publisher, after all.
Don’t get me wrong, I am never going to download the EGS onto my PC, just like I’ll never download EA’s Origin system. I am more than willing to wait the 6 months for the Steam release. Just don’t take it out on the game itself
"We think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem"
"If a pirate offers a product anywhere in the world, 24 x 7, purchasable from the convenience of your personal computer, and the legal provider says the product is region-locked, will come to your country 3 months after the US release, and can only be purchased at a brick and mortar store, then the pirate's service is more valuable." - Gabe Newell
Epic Games isn't just bad because of the Exclusivity deals.
Epic Games is bad because of the completely, fundamentally flawed state in which it's "Store" released is giving PIRACY a PERFECTLY LEGITIMATE foothold as an argument.
I don't really care about Borderlands personally, since I never got into the franchise. But this exclusivity-thing that Epic is offering is really annoying. Maybe I could swallow it if they offered the same level of service as Steam, just on a different platform; but they don't. They've got a bare-bones, broken platform with a reputation for poor privacy protection, even going so far as to gather Steam data without consent or even informing their users, until it was discovered... -_-
Yeah, I might not be one of those people who hate the very mention of Fortnite, or what it turned the gaming scene into, but the Epic Launcher is something you won't find me using anytime soon. Not until it's as fixed as their owners claim it'll be at least. >_>

ONLY 6 months of waiting for steam release AND the date is 4, 2020
So if you wait you are clearly the more blazing person. xD
