Hello everyone!
Today I have another question about your musical and creative journeys.
And it's about your very first experience(s).
(Good thing that first sentence was there, right? Giggity.)
What was your first experience with creating music, playing or even just holding an instrument like?
I remember my mother had this tiny little keyboard that I kept messing around with as a kid.
Funny thing is, that never actually led to anything, so this part of the story isn't really too interesting.
Fast forward to my teen years and my brother introduced me to some Midi software.
I don't even remember the name, but it was really handy and simple.
You could just click the notes into the staff and put Midi compositions together without much effort.
In retrospect, the fact that you had to use notes and not the piano roll "blocks" was definitely a good thing.
That's how I learned how to read music!
How did you start out? Did you have a teacher right away?
Or did you just mess around with the first instrument you could afford?
Or maybe you were clicking buttons randomly on a computer or something, like me?
Let's hear your stories.
Next, we're taking a look at...

Well, that leads to me today, being a guitarist. : I
But, I remember writing and then extremly poorly recording my very first song. Thats what really hooked me for the long term. Man, those were some seriously happy moments I had there. Seems so long ago. But its been only 4 years. Really funny looking all over my old tabs and recordings. Kinda seeing my own journey from back then till today.
First day of MS, I walk in and our teacher handed us recorders to learn sheet music. We sounded terrible!! But I was the only one in the class to transform 4 notes into a 12-bar mini song that wasn't just scaling (also because I missed the lessons for the other 2 notes we were supposed to have known).
When we had learned all there was to reading sheet music, we were loaned actual band instruments. When the flute didn't work out for me, I tried for the French Horn, and boy I loved that thing for the next 6 performances over the rest of middle school time. When High School came around, I spent the next 4 years in choir.
I still smile when I remember how sure my mom was when she told me I was going to hate band class because I didn't know how to play anything.
