I normally go for the most common ones like Fart, Vore, Scat etc so I don't miss out on something in a broader search to find new content, but if I have a specific type of content in mind then I will try and narrow it down.

I tend to stick to as simple a word as I can, then I like to just changed the search engine here from “relevancy” to “date” so I can see the newest of that kind of content. From what I have seen so far it personally works well.

Yeah, I almost always use the date sorting options.

I search for lots of stuff, but my most common searches are:
wetting, pee, overalls, shortalls, scat, poop, eating, packing, smearing, stain, hoodie, kigu, kigurumi, plush, plushie, puppet, fursuit, stinky, smelly, raccoon, skunk, otter, beaver, ferret, etc.

I search for plurals and other forms of the words, as well as combinations, when needed. When searching for variations of scat, and I'm in a hurry, I usually add !fart to omit stuff that I'm not as likely to be into. Otherwise, the amount of results can be overwhelming.

I usually click the advanced option and turn off all types except for art. And, I always sort by date, so all the recent stuff comes first. That way, I only need to go through stuff that was posted since the last time I did the same search.

This is how I search for things, always by date. Occasionally I add things in before @ keywords if looking for other specifics or whatnot since a lot of people don't tag fully.

Yeah, somewhat hard to tag properly on FA due to character limit for tagging.

Not even that, some (fairly rarely) don't even tag properly - if at all.

If I'm searching for a term that I search for frequently, such as "Scat", I'll search by recency so that I can see the newer content. If I'm searching for a term or phrase that I've never searched or very infrequently search, I'll sort by popularity to try to find the best stuff. Anywhere in the middle of that, I'll search by relevancy and see what FA recommends.

My typical searches are two or three words, where one of the words will be related to filth and the others will be what kind of topic I'm feeling, "Scat stuffing", "Scat eating", "Toilet cock", "Messy diaper eating".

I wish FA had a smart search engine that could understand the what the words mean. If I search for scat, it would find poop, shit, turd, crap, feces and scat. That way, I wouldn't need to retry all of those with eating, then smearing, then sniffing and so on. I notice that combining too many words with the OR operator doesn't always work well.

I've tried,
(scat | poop | turd | shit | crap | feces) & (eating | swallowing | licking)
Sometimes it gives no results, other times I get eating or swallowing that doesn't include any of the poop words, as if the & was also being treated as an OR. Sometimes it actually works as intended, if I don't include too many ORs.

Oh, it also gives surprisingly different results for variations like poop, poopy, poops, pooped, pooping, etc. Ideally, it would let us use wildcards so we could do something like, poop* | shit* | scat | turd* etc. Then it would find all variations of all those words. We'd be finding some good shit then!

I've been noticing that sometimes I'll perform a search and the results will be a mix of art and stories. If I filter out one of the result types, I'll get no results, even though I saw both types for the same search.

It doesn't usually happen, but it's happened enough times that it's frustrating.

Man, if we could have wildcards and regex, I'd be set!

I just did this search:

(scat | poop | turd | shit | crap | feces) & (eating | swallowing | licking) !vore

Then I turned off Flash, Photography, Music, Story and Poetry in advanced, so I would only see art, and sorted date. That returned 4804 results. I already saw most of the stuff, but found a couple images I hadn't seen before. Then, about 41 pages into the results, I get an error saying that we can only view the first 3,000 results.

I guess I can always re-do the same search and reverse the sort order to see the rest. I could probably also reduce the results by only displaying adult, then mature, then general, as needed. It would be nice if they set the limit to something higher, like 10,000 per search.

I only go for similar words if there's no good results just in case there's one with differently-worded tags.

Therefore, I give my posts tags of simple AND similar words.

I generally only search different variants of the same thing if they're different sounding enough. So (watersports|piss|pee) but not (piss|pissing). Maybe that's a mistake... but the saddest thing is that no matter what I do, I'll still miss out on good stuff that people leave totally undescribed. At least that creates potential for surprises after it seems like I've seen everything!

I also search species a lot. Keywords like "arachnid" or "reptile" are probably super rare compared to more specific ones, but I still like to use both.

Yeah, I have a whole list of species I tend to check. My issue with that is some I only like as feral and people don't normally tag anthro or feral that often. XD

Now that it's somewhat on topic, I'll confess I tagged one of my stories with "thisishowyoutagthingsproperlywatchandlearn".

Mostly just "vore, scat" when i'm searching, though usually I find stuff from the favourites galleries of other commenters on pictures I like, then looking through the gallery/scraps of the artist, because that's an easy way to find stuff that appeals to people with (at least a few) common interests.

Mainly just facesitting for me, maybe farting and/or scat as well. Ass smothering's pretty much my eternal obsession, I think lol x-x
