Removing Shinies (long and rambley)
Admittedly money's been tight as i've had a lot of expenses around moving recently
In my excitement I activated shinies as soon as I could.. I thought the extra money would be helpful
However I am second guessing my decision now, because I have doubts about PayPal's integrity.
I can't help but feel that their agreement is set up a honey pot trap to get a list of artists who use furaffinity, and will soon be blanket banning, or using it as a database to help investigate and ban users who are violating their "moral standards".
You have to remember this is a company that blocked people from donating to fund furaffinity and forced them to turn to selling ads, they've banned many artists for selling pornographic commissions, and just generally have a history of shady dealings.
I have a general distrust of financial institutions, and paypal is no exception.
I only use them because for some reason most customers will not use anything else to pay.
I guess I don't mean to just berate paypal here. If they've decided to turn a new leaf, great! But as of right now, I want to wait and see if they've earned that trust.
I am sorry to those who've tipped shinies already but I don't really intend to put a target on my back.

The whole deal seemed really fishy, especially taking into account that FA didn't really update their site for years.
Which is interesting because several folks I have tried to get commissions from in the past have balked at any payment methods other than PayPal. I even got banned by one artist after I tried to tell them they would attract more commissions if they opened up their allowed payment methods. . . . lol
Until PayPal is regulated like any other financial institution, I won't do any business with or through them.
I simply don't trust them.
Their first action was to simply ban my account from their page, guess they didn't take it well :|
No worries. There are other artists who will accept other payment that I've used since then.
Ain't worth linking a checking account that they can put a freeze on when a buyer has complaints.
Kind of funny how it's the same with all the huge internet sites getting all thoughtcrimey lately... ebay/paypal, craigslist, google/youtube (to name a few)
It's not illegal to accept money for porn.
It's not illegal to give banking access to porn sellers.
Paypal and other financial institutions actively choose these policies on their own volition.
They absolutely are being prejudice. And it's probably no coincidence that they would choose to discriminate against an industry whos workers are primarily female.
It may be illegal to accept money for pornography based on local ordinances where you live.
It may be illegal to do business with people selling pornography based on local ordinances where you live.
Because of those factors Paypal has a strict 'no porn' policy. This is to protect their business from running afoul of the law as well as to help prevent things like sex trafficking and the distribution of child porn. Both sex trafficking and child porn are a multi-billion dollar businesses and services like Paypal are just one of the ways they attempt to do that business. It's simple self-preservation on Paypal's part.
There's nothing stopping people from selling furry porn commissions as stopping furry porn is on the bottom list of their concerns. Keeping all the big stuff from happening-child porn, sex trafficking, fraud, etc-is way higher on their list of shit to keep off their service. Just don't do business with dummies who put 'Durr paying for porn!' in the subject line and you're fine.

selling regular pornography has nothing to do with child pornography or human trafficking. There isn't confusion between these things, and if you were doing illegal stuff, you could have any kind of front you like > regular photography, donut shop, pizzeria, literally anything. There's no reason to think someone selling porn is more likely to be a front to these kinds of businesses than anything else
Arguing against popular people usually don't work out.
