OMFG MY MOUSE HAD BABIES!?!!

well if you red my previous journal you'd know I got a pair of mice. A boy (Placibin) and a girl (Irick)
yeah I know it probably happen eventually, but Irick got pregnant, and her babies have just made their first appearance when I went to clean out some hunks of dirty bedding. I lifted their little igloo hidey spot just a bit to get some bedding caught under it, and I hear squeaking.. too much squeaking that could be from two mice who have yet to make noise, make.
and then.. TINY PINK BABY MOUSE BUTTS!!
they seem okay so far, and i'm not going to touch them for about a day so her instincts take over n stuff, but does anyone who's had this happen know what I should do to ensure they grow up happy and safe?

I can't remove him without stressing out the mom, she panics when he's not in there with her. she kinda kicked him out though, he went and made his own little nest ont he other side of the tank, and when he crosses the feed tray int eh middle, she comes out and kicks his butt and he goes to the the other side again. I think i'mma get him fixed once I can handle him again without the mom panicking, that should help this from happenign again, lol

oh man that proceedure is really expensive n stuff ^_^ well as long as he's not picking on the babies...

This happened to my ex boyfriend's hamster. He bought her pregnant and didn't realize it until the babies started coming out, lol. What kind of bedding do you have ? He had this organic cotton bedding that was suppose to be good, but I guess it wasn't good for babies. One of them got stuck in it. He freed it, but it got an infection which spread to the others. ;-;

I put down sheets of newspaper and some shredded newspaper and they made their own nests out of it, and even hide under some layers of paper. I placed a few 100% cotton cotton balls in there too, but the mom doesn't use them for the nest, the dad made his own nest on the other side of the tank (I think she kicked him out of the igloo, lol)
