I reduced my anxiety attacks with one simple change!
For the past several months I was having anxiety attacks on the mornings of my work days. I work a really stressful job and my psych prescribed me some meds just to take on those days. But I wondered if I could do something different to reduce my anxiety attacks.
It dawned on me a couple weeks ago that I typically only have my phone alarm set on work days instead of off days. So I thought maybe the alarm had something to do with it. I went into my alarm settings and changed the ringtone from "Metal Crusher" from Undertale" (https://youtu.be/P0PpyUsvT9w) to the Bach Cello Suite prelude (https://youtu.be/1prweT95Mo0). Then I reduced the volume from 10/10 to about 7/10. Finally I turned off the vibrate function.
Soon both the frequency and intensity of my anxiety attacks decreased! I still have maybe one a week (still only on work days) but only once I get to work, and even then it's just some nausea and shortness of breath.
I don't know exactly why or how it works but it does! I can't believe something so simple changed how I get through the day. Still need to kick the habit of making depression meals for breakfast: foods that I can easily keep down when I feel like throwing up.
Maybe this will help someone out there but I just thought I'd share something that helped reduce both the severity and frequency of my anxiety attacks. 😊
