Godzilla: King of the Monsters Review (NO Spoilers)
THE CRITICS KNOW NOTHING.
KOTM was an AWESOME movie, the human characters are waaaaaaaay better than the ones in 2014... *cough*misterdeadpansoldierdude*cough* but here, everyone gives way more emotion and way more worth investing into, the human story is NOT convoluted as critics say, it's a good story as opposed to what some say "there is no human story"... BULL.
The kaiju... Err TITANS look fucking amazing.
Rodan is incredible looking, from when he emerges to the end, he's just scary as hell if you saw him swooping toward you.
Mothra is gorgeous, yet dangerous looking which I love! Keeping her graceful look from the Toho movies but giving her the altered edgier body to actually FIGHT now!
Ghidorah is... Holy shit, he is terrifying. They call him a "flying extinction event" in promos and they were NOT kidding. He's FUCkING HUGE and gahdamn does he mess shit up, if he looks at you, it's like looking into the eyes of Death itself, I LOVE his origins and many OG fans will too.
Then we have our man Godzilla. This movie very much shows why HE IS THE FUCKING KING. He is shown (to me) A LOT more then 2014 and every time you do see him, he's ready to kick ass and he sure as hell does! I love his design change, making him more OG looking too.
The MUSIC is... Oh gawd, made me shiver as it's amazing! Even the entire credits, the music just FITS... Y'all will love it all.
There are many little fun easter eggs and gems in the movie true Goji fans will catch and will be pleased with too, Michael Dougherty, I tip my hat to you sir.
This IS a go see, even if you're not into or get a lot of the stuff, it's a great summer movie to just turn mind off, eat popcorn and have fun.

It's been a long time since I have seen the 2014 movie and honestly I literally struggle to remember anything remarkable about the story of the characters. But unfortunately we saw pretty much nothing but them and very little of the actual, titular monster.
This movie really addressed the problems well: we have interesting characters, and a plot that really subverts our expectations in a good way. And honestly, I'll be quite forthright: we see plenty of the monsters. In the 2014 movie, according to one estimate: Godzilla had approximately 10 minutes and 46 seconds of total screen time in a movie literally named after that character. Now, the counterargument could be is that, like the shark in Jaws: not seeing very much of Godzilla helps adds impact to his appearances. But the problem is I think he actually had so little screen time that his presence was underwhelming. It wasn't really a film about Godzilla, it was more accurately a film in which he was a key supporting character: integrally important to the plot, but occupying only a very small portion of the actual film.
KotM definitely resolved this problem: we got to see a LOT of the titular monster and others.
And I have to say, I do wish we had seen a bit more of the supporting character played by Charles Dance, even a small role for him he always manages to make more interesting.
