For the readers out there

Hello folks, hope ya'll are having a good weekend, just thought on passing by to share an article that might be an interesting read.
As you know, I live in Brazil and this place is a mess, mess in which I can hardly cope with, but since I don't have the gift of words, explaining it in its full extent never worked very well, but this article says it all, and I couldn't agree more with it.
It is a 11 minutes read for those with the time and curiosity, enjoy!

And if what he's saying is what the problem really is, well how long will it take to change?

Things will change when people collectively accept that life the way it is now is not ok, aka never. Keeping the appearences and status quo are more important than being decent and contributing to society. It is sad to see =(.

The politician summed up your whole article in two sentences.
He turned to the American who asked the question and said,
"Your ancestors came here looking for God. Mine came here looking for gold."
In the end, nothing will change, with or without article but it still feels good to know there was someone out there who managed to say what I always wanted to say, but never could find the right words.
Changing what needs to be changed in Brazil means altering an entire country's psyche. This also helps explain why so many people who immigrate to the U.S. dislike Americans, while a smaller proportion appreciate that we think differently. Again, that's not going to change over night.
Brazil will have to go to rock bottom and stay there for a few decades before anything starts to change =(.
The patriotism you folks have is something I'd love to see in people here, but I won't because of the reasons pointed by the article.
