Being taught to avoid talking about Politics and Religion has led to a lack of understanding of Politics and Religion. What we should have been taught was how to have a civil conversation about a difficult topic.
I am a simple pony. When choosing my president, my requirements are pretty simple:
First and foremost, my president will know the difference between right and wrong. He will fight with unwavering conviction for causes that promote human dignity and welfare.
My president will value people over profit. I will be able to trust his judgement day after day as he challenges all tht cause human suffering no matter the costs to corporations or other moneyed interests.
My president will strive to make sweeping changes that overturn our corrupt political system. He will understand his role as a catalyst for change and inspire us to become agents of change. He will lead our ambitious efforts as we band together with shared vision and common cause, applying ingenuity and innovation, the hallmarks of our American legacy, to resolve the vital issues of our day.
My president will not be caught up by a sense of national pride. Rather, he will have us seek imaginative solutions and employ the best practices from other countries around the world to improve our conditions here at home.
I'll be honest. I refuse to vote for another corporate politician who seeks public office. I'm standing with the man who has stood up for us over the past 40 years--someone who is giving up his golden years to improve our lives.
This is a pivotal moment in history. A time when we are all called upon to help change our world for the better. If we don't seize this rare opportunity right now, we may never get another chance like this ever again. So please do the right thing. Join me and support Bernie Sanders.

My requirements differ from yours in that I expect the candidate for POTUS to have some experience in a similar position: namely, governor of a state.
