I can sympathize. I spent weeks at a time down in Florida for much of my childhood. My parents loved it there, but I wasn't having any of it. As soon as I had the excuse of "I can't go, I can't get the time off", I was able to stay at home. The salt leaves my skin feeling awful and dried-out, the sun burns, the sand chafes and scratches things. ANd, like, there's nothing to actually *do*.
It wouldn't be fair to say I *hate* it, so much as that it takes me away from all of the things I *do* love and find fulfilling, and replaces them with boring, physically uncomfortable and repetitious tasks that I'm convinced so many other people only like because they feel like they're *supposed to* like them.

Would much rather be hiking somewhere more dry, possibly slightly creepy. It';s always more fun. ^v^

oooh hiking is awesome, yeah I'd rather be in the mountains hiking than getting fried to a crisp on the beach -w-
