Like seriously...... He is clearly happy with it, how can someone be happy by stealing someone's design.... I wish people could use their own creativity and their own damn brain for once
Dang. They even said in the description of the sonas reference post that it took inspiration primarily from yours. I can see where you're coming from, though. It's hard to know how to feel with these types of situations.
Exactly! I see NO other character there except for my own.... If he wanted a design which clearly hes been watching me, he could have noted me and asked me if I could make a design for him instead! But jeesh, this is messed up that he calls it inspiration.... atleast others would change it up and add some twists and turns and creativity...
I wonder how another artist could do that in good conscience. I mean I doubt you could get the markings so similar without just having shown them a pic of your sona as reference and saying "copy these"
It's clearly what he did ..and I was thinking the exact same thing...
"Hey artist, can you just barely change hus copyrighted back logo please and keep everything else the exact same?"
Hell he even used my jewelry and everything....this is insane...
Exactly...and clearly they REALLY think it is okay and are happy with NOT coming up with their own sona...like seriously..... People need to learn how to grow up and use creativity for once.
That's shitty, I mean I buy adopts because I am not really creative enough to design something myself that I would be happy with, but it's pretty unbelievable that someone could be so nonchalant about just straight up stealing someone else's character design and then claiming that it's "inspired". Sorry this happened to you :<
IF you guys are going to witch hunt the guy, don't.
That will only start more problems. For the love of whatever you hold dear, just report the person for character theft and move on. They're clearly ripping the character off by only changing a few minor aspects of the character (like name and few, barely noticed markings) to make it seem completely not the original that Cypher has owned and created for a long time. Just report the user, and don't comment on the work, just report and move on. It will only create more problems for Cypher in the long run.
The artist who did the reference sheet for the individual who was getting 'inspiration' from Cypher's character has had personal conversations with me about the situation, and through what information I was given, the situation is, at best, solved. The individual obviously has taken it upon themselves to disable and deactivate their FA, and I have been monitoring their page on DA in case they upload there. The artist, who I will not name, has also been completely forthcoming and cooperative with myself, and by extension, Cypher as well. They have made every effort to fix the situation, and I have informed Cypher of what steps can be taken moving forward.
For anyone concerned about the situation is free to contact me, but there isn't much else to explain outside of what I have already done to help Cypher, and the artist understand what was done wrongfully, and how to fix things moving forward.

To think someone would do this and also think they would get away with it like it's nbd.

And it looks like that guy shut down his FA account
