I Return.
Oh hey, long time no see. Soooooooo, the long absence has ended. I had a few reasons for the absence, none were particularly good, but you deserve to here them.
First off, I fit some bad burn out from commissions and other obligations. I took too many commissions at once, and lost my will to do art for a while. Second, once I started getting back into art, I wasn't really ready to get back to the commissions and burn out, so I did some other art. I felt guilty about not working on the commissions, and so I thought it wouldn't be as bad if I didn't show those who commissioned me that I had done anything in between. And so, no art uploads for a while. This was a bad decision, and I wouldn't recommend following that line of logic. Just cancelling the commissions would have been a better choice for my own sanity.
Finally, I started a new position at work that at least initially limited my free time. So the limited time I had for art used to relax. That's probably the only good reason I have here for not doing the commission work, but I should still have been posting.
So I've gotten back on track, and feel better about starting to post things again. So I've gotten a pretty large backlog of art. I'll trickle it out over the next few days/weeks as I don't want to just flood folks submission lists and, uhh, my sanity.
So given this, where do I go from now. I have a commissioned comic for Artherion I need to finish, and I also want to give my friend BuckDaSystem a commission as we are pretty close, and he's been a bit bummed that he never gets to commission his friends. After that I'm not going to take commissions for a while. What I will be concentrating on is likely comics works. I'm going to finish the current Lemonade and Magic comic, I have one more at least I want to do, then I want to start larger comic that I've been writing for a while but have been nervous to actually draw.
I've also taken up writing, and have one story done and a few a good way in. I'll post them soon; but I want to do some illustrations for them first and the commission takes precedence. I've also been working on a game with
tyrannozilla which started as a quick thing but has gotten a bit more involved. It's an inflation based arcade game that we will be opening up the ability for folks to get in as a player, enemy (who gets inflated) or audience members. We're not quite at the point where we will be opening up the positions in the game, but it should be close. I'll post more in journal when we get there; but if you are interested, we stream development on Wednesdays at https://picarto.tv/blk (possibly not tomorrow though as we both have obligations for at least part of the night).
In any case, I'm going to try and keep my lines of communication a bit more open and post art more frequently.
Hope you are all doing well.

Ambition can be the failing of even great artists if they bite off more than they can chew. I knew you did a lot of commissions before you disappeared, so that's kind of understandable that happened to you. Try to keep your limits in mind next time!
Work can also get in the way. But if you can fit your art time in wherever you can, I'm sure you can still get plenty done even then.
Interesting about the game development thing, I guess if I remember I'll certainly check it out.
