August Commissions Open! Stylized comms and Timing
6 years ago
General
Please look at my commission website for updated info, tos and availability! https://tashartcommissions.weebly.c.....and-slots.html
I’ve reopened stylized commissions because I enjoy working in this style much more than the old cartoony one. Chibi-ish proportions but with more pencily details. And trying to keep the traditional look with the digital ones as well http://www.furaffinity.net/view/32710732/
Also, I’m happy to work in this style for my mini inks and paints. You can also have stylized versions of your characters in my sketch sheets as well.
Character Adjustments Please read!
Design
Characters for stylized commissions will be simplified depending on how complex the original design is. Complex outfits/markings with be simplified, wings will be made smaller etc.
Colour
For the digital colour very saturated and dark colours don’t work well with my sketchy style. And my aim is to keep a traditional feel to the colour. I might adjust your characters palette to suit the style. If this is something that would bother you, please tell me when ordering!
No nude/sexual themes with this style even if its sfw!
Just feel kinda morally icky with any characters in this style due to the childlike proportions. Even if the character is an adult. Innocent romance like kissing is fine and non human characters without exposed genitals are fine to be nude.
My usual commissions are also open!
I should mention that I’m very open to adjusting the sketch sheets. So, here’s some extra info.
These are looser and rougher sketches in bulk which is why they’re a bit cheaper. These are meant to explore designs for a new character or look at different poses and expressions of an existing ones. I can also do more narrative sequences with these if you want me to add some dialogue. But please note this won’t be a proper comic with backgrounds and panels etc.
3 full body views plus one half body or two headshots for £60 is just the standard option. I think of it as a point system.
1p – headshot
2p – half body/Stylized full body
3p – Detailed full body
You get 11p to use with the £60. Extra points being roughly £5.50.
Additional rules:
Do not ask for 11 headshots. You have to a least have one full body or two full bodies/stylized.
You can only get up to 5 additional points. Any more than that would be a bit much for me.
Up to two characters per sketch sheet.
Timing Changes
After some thought I think I need to try and change the way I time my commissions. Up until now I’ve been trying to really control how much work I do each month. As in trying to get all my commissions done as fast as I can so I can have some time to work on my own things at the end of the month. But that just hasn’t been working well for me. Clients can sometimes take a while to answer emails and my own personal/family things can get in the way. Lately by the end of a bunch of commissions I’ve found myself getting tired and frustrated which isn’t any good for me or my clients.
Would folk be ok if I slowed down a bit? If I took some time for myself in between commissions to work on personal work, hell even self-indulgent fan art occasionally? Of course, I totally understand if clients feel uncomfortable with me taking too long. For a while now I’ve only been charging people when I’m close to starting their commission instead of charging them when they get the slot. I think this gives my clients and myself more peace of mind.
I’m still hoping to get 5 slots done in a month/month and a half. But it will depend on how complex the commissions are. If I get a bunch of small commissions, I’ll be able to finish them faster and move onto the next batch sooner. And if I get a lot of complex ones it might take max two months. Though If the commission has a deadline (someone’s birthday etc.) tell me asap so I can plan for it. I’ll probably take a longer break after I’m finished with a set. Like 1-2 weeks depending on how I feel.
TLTR I’m going to try a more relaxed pace this round with more time for personal work in between commissions and see how I feel and how long it takes.
Best with:
Imaginative fantasy themes. Nature themes. Creatures. Natural, earthy colours and markings.
Will draw:
Any animal/creature, anthro or human. Android/cyborg's to an extent.
Original, existing, and fan characters. Portraits and pets.
Won't Draw:
Complex machinery, very complicated and detailed armor. (Might be able to do a simplified version)
Extreme gore (blood and small wounds are ok).
Nsfw (other than tasteful nudity), most fetishes and anything discriminatory.
I won’t heavily reference/copy another artist's, character, art style or pose.
How to Order:
Do not book a slot if you don't have enough money available. While I'm happy to answer questions about costs please only book a slot when you are ready to pay. Otherwise you'll be disrupting my schedule and potentially taking a slot from another client.
Email me at tashcrow.commissions[at]gmail.com to claim a slot! Please include character info, any references and the type of commission you want. If you don’t have a references then mood boards (3-5 images for inspiration) and clear, to the point descriptions would be great.
Payment up front via paypal invoice. I’ll invoice you once I know what you want and when I'm ready to start your commission.
If you take a slot and don’t respond after a week (before payment) I’ll have to remove your slot.
Please tell me if you’ve changed your mind about getting a commission. It might be awkward, but I’ll appreciate you telling me and it saves me planning for a commission that isn’t going to happen!
Wip’s and Edits:
I send wip’s throughout the commission. The sooner you respond, the sooner I finish your commission. Please take a moment to make sure you’re happy with everything though!
Price includes two major edits for each stage (excluding paintings and inks). I might charge for additional edits depending on complexity.
Traditional paintings will have very limited edits due to the medium. I can change colours and little details digitally once the painting is done. If you’re quite particular about your character’s colours and details this might not be the best option for you.
Similarly, traditional sketches are more awkward to edit and I might have to make digital edits as well.
