I'm all for lips on furries, as long as they don't look like they've been hit in the mouth with a sack of cement dropped from 20 feet in the air.

Not naming any names, but certain artists do this to their art and it RUINS the entire picture. It makes it look ridiculous to the point of taking any beauty, or attractiveness away from it. This coming from an avid hyperfur, is saying quite a bit. It's downright disgusting. Biggest "bonerkill" in furry art today imho. I can avoid diaperfurs (not my bag), babyfurs, scat, etc. etc. the list goes on, but there's no "big-ass-flapping-butt-face-lips" tags anywhere...

Anyway it depends if you draw what colld be "a realistic-looking anthro face" or if you draw cartoons. In the case of cartoons either is good.

And then there's the case of reptiles: among geckos for example, you can have some oddities re: color.

Hah exactly. Like with my weird-ass character history that steals from Asian mythologies and shamelessly rewrites them to suit my whims, it's all fantasy so you do what you like with it. Some people feel the need to artistically experiment... others are adamant about what they consider realism.

The animal kingdom is so far divorced from my bizarro squeaky pics that I don't think about fur much anymore. xD

Mind you, on the subject, I LOVE the lips big cats have, especially lions. My especial pleasure is when doodling more bestial lionesses and making sure to include that tufty beard under the chin they have. =-P

Well, i do see how scalies could get away with it for say 'lipstick' never tried it on other types before, i will say it adds a sexy style to a fur

furred or not furred doesn't matter to me. Though thing is what if like the typical animal it comes from has black lips but you're said so and so ethnicity color race.You might not want people to make think you're said color because of lip color. i find it a bit too complicated. i just draw my lips furred and leave it at that.

Personal preference. Sometimes I will, sometimes I won't. I can name a few anthro movie characters shown with lips, too! XD

I say if they have a more animal-shaped nose then human-looking lips look soooo duuuummmmb and should only have like a little bit of a bottom lip..

Now like in Coffinberry's case where the nose/face looks more human, then it can be sexy ;)

As far as color/fuzzyness goes, dosn't really matter to me haha.

I say that you don't need human-esque lips on a furry. I think just the lips of whatever animal they are of is good enough... at least for me.

I truly am not really a biased person. I think everyone should do as they wish. Both human and animal lips are sexy in their own special ways.
