Hey y'all ik this message isn't probably gonna get read by all to many but if it makes a difference to one person that'd be good enough for me.

So recently I had minor but serious discussion with a few friends of mine of wether we should care about others peoples feeling in regards to their thoughts on usage of certain words. More importantly words that hurt them or they feel uncomfortable with. In the discussion the opinions seemed half and half. Some argued in favor of using words regardless of what some of us think because its freedom of speech and because we are friend we should forgive each other. The others argued that some words are harmful to others and as friends we should respect them enough not to say those harmful words. I was in the side of not using harmful nor taboo words to my friends because I find it morally wrong to do so to someone to respect.

However I'll add a little bit of something more. I used to be on the other side, I used to say whatever word I would please without any consideration of the people around me or my friends. It took me years but I realized how wrong it was. I will always feel bad about what I used to say and breaking from that habit was and still is a challenge. My knee jerk reaction to these jokes is to laugh because of how used to it I was but slowly I've stopped because I understand the consequences of me laughing to those jokes has. What started as breaking a habit for a few friends has turned into me realizing in my core how wrong such acts are and have made a difference in me.
