Sooooo....the 2019 Tokyo Game Show is going on now....that's a thing....
Thought you said they seemed to be filling in the gaps for the Kingdom Hearts one....?
I said that yeah. But there was FF7 too.
.....OOOOH! The Turks! Sector 7! The....oh no, they're really going to hehehe...they're going to do that Don Corneo bit!?
If there was ONE thing in the original that that made me side-ways glance, it was THAT. Oh geez....it just tahahaha...well...gotta give'em credit to go through with it in this age on Earth. Kudos/!
Oooh wow....
But the Turks! Jeez....I remember Reno....his boss fight preceded one of the biggest losses in the game...literally.
What's with all these ghosts??
That's the new stuff, no idea...BUT...it definitely has to do with Gainsborough...I mean....what happens to HER was a BIG thing in the original....they keeping THAT right? I mean THAT'S the big one....

Turn-Based stuff still has it's ways in things like tabletop games and strategy games. As for the 'ATB' stuff, yeah, it's slow by today's standards. That's not to say that it isn't a classic RPG approach at all. The original FF7 and it's predecessors will always help inspire at least some indie games with turn-based stuff.
Personally, my fav compromise is Grandia Xtreme, which hybrids turn-based stuff with live combat.
