I have been attending Live Role Play (LRP) events for some years now and I thought it was time for FA to see some of the fantastic costumes and characters I have had the pleasure to have photographed.
At the moment I only play the Maelstrom system (More details: http://www.profounddecisions.co.uk/ ) but I have been to Lorien Trust (LT) events (details: http://www.lorientrust.com/) such as the Gathering as well as a smattering of other systems such as the excellent Dummonii Chronicles (details: http://www.dumnonni.com/), and the defunct Kingship.

So is it a particular themed event or just come in whatever you desire to roleplay as?
In Maelstrom LRP for example you have a world similar to out 16th-17thC with cultures *roughly* based on Celtic/Vikings, English Pirates, French court, Mayans, Cossacks etc.
In Dummonii is much more specific being strictly based on Dark Age Myths.
As long as you fitted whatever cultures and societies running then you can play just about anything you like!
If you came as a Beast inspired Beastman type, who's X uniform was 'fantasied' up a little then some groups might take you in the more 'serious' settings like Maelstrom. If slightly more 'open worlds' like the Lorien Trust's Gathering setting then given the Space Marines, Predators, Jedi, World War One Flying Aces, etc that they have in the past then an XMen member would not be totally out of place!
