I think you're going about it the right way. You've blocked them before and if they are still trying to contact you now they very likely haven't learned their lesson

Personally, I've been on the site since before I was 18, and I would hate to have ties severed with one of my FA idols simply due to the year I was born. I think that, unless they made underage contact with you *repeatedly* (as in even after finding out it made you uncomfortable), you should allow them to prove they're 18 via showing a pic of them in RL holding up their username, and then sending a second pic showing their ID proving they're now an adult.

However, with that said, I understand it's a lot of work just to make some *maybe* friends, who quite frankly already made you uncomfortable before so the friendship would already have a negative start.

In short, I think you should give some of them a second chance but I get where you're coming from with this, and I'm sorry you've had kids bother you with this crap.

I dont just go blocking folks because they arent 18. It's the ones that approach me with all that "yiffy" mess that I have a concern with. one guy straight up told me to "just ignore the fact he was under age so I could smut talk him"....wtf.

and it just so happens that that particular person was one of the few that messaged me recently. If I had to sever ties, that means that they've already crossed a line that is far beyond being brought back.

I understand what you're saying, big blue. He sounds like somebody you should keep blocked, since he was so willing to make you uncomfortable multiple times. I'm just saying for the others ones, since it sounds like multiple kids messaged you, that you should maybe give them another chance, but only if they can prove they're 18. Honestly though it's up to you. It's your FA.

It's the best way to treat it. Just to block them and forget about it. Having to block underage accounts has gotten pretty outta control

You're doing the right thing. Anyone that doesn't think potentially subjecting you to a sex offender conviction because "age is just a number" doesn't really deserve to have their case re-evaluated just because they become legal. Leave 'em blocked and don't think twice. Nothing clearly mattered to them beyond what that wanted and no longer being legally a minor isn't what will change that.

I think this is a logical action. If they didn't respect your boundaries before, chances are they won't do so now, even if they are of legal age. I can't say I've ever had this issue myself, but if it did, I wouldn't hesitate to block the other party, myself.
