The artist guide (how I draw)

Konichiwa everyone. Today is sunny, but cold. Anyway, one friend asked me to teach him how to draw. I'm certainly not a teacher, but I was so glad that someone noticed me and even asks for help in drawing. And some people are even interested in how I draw. So I decided to show it step by step. As an example, I took Miriam.
Before starting, I want to report that I am a self-taught artist, sometimes I looked in the book "How to Draw Manga", but in everything else I studied myself and for 4 years I improved my drawing skills.
The most necessary things: A pencil (I recommend several and different thicknesses), an elastic band and paper (for drawing and would recommend A4).
It is also recommended to have with you: A good camera, lighting (so that the picture can be seen well) and the artist's hands.

From the very beginning of my career as an artist, I started from the neck and shoulders. I don’t know why, but it was more convenient for me.

Next, I draw on my hands, but in order to make the chest and then the rest of the upper body. This is necessary so that it is clear what gender and what body structure. But there are exceptions.

Legs do not have to be drawn. It all depends on what you draw. I decided to show like that. Miriam is thicc, hips are wide, therefore legs are wide. The main thing is to observe the proportions.

The most important part of all living organisms in the world is the head. Therefore, we draw a skull and a designation where the eyes, mouth, nose, etc. will be located. The main thing is to know who and / or what you draw, because each skull can have a different one.

When the skeleton is ready, you can draw the basic elements of clothing. Miriam’s jacket, scarf, skirt and gloves. I almost forgot, you must also indicate the breast. This is the main feature of female characters.

Since she is wooloo, then the hair must correspond to her race - hair like a sheep. We also finish the shotgun.
Note: Never be afraid to make mistakes. Even masters sometimes do them. And as we saw earlier, our hands were in the wrong position, so we redraw them and put them in another place so that it seems that she is holding a weapon, and not levitate in her hands.

We pass to her face. We fix bugs with ears and horns. Then draw the nose and foundation for the eyes. It seems to you that everyone has the same eyes, but not. Everyone has different eyes.

Draw eyebrows, mouth and eyes with highlights. Glare is one of the most important parts. They show that the character is alive. Eyebrows and mouth are also important. They show the emotion that the character is experiencing. At this moment, Miriam feels the fear that lurks behind her.

After you do everything, you can start drawing additional elements of clothing to make it more realistic. You can also add shadows, but this is your choice.

The most difficult of all is the hands. It happens that you draw, and then you understand that you painted incorrectly and you need to start all over again. But I found a way. Not very good, but I think it will do.

Also, if you have a black pen, you can make it brighter and the details will immediately become more visible. As here.

And finally, I do in color, although I always do that. And now, my drawing is ready!
Note: if you want and you have a signature, you can sign your drawing. So you can protect your creativity from theft. But it is up to you.
