Alright guys, first time I've ever done one of these things before. Who knows, I might even do it right. (on a totally random note, for whatever reason I'm able to type at normal speed right now in FA. That hasn't happened in oh, 5 weeks or something... Weird.)

~How often do you get writer’s block?
Riht now never. Editing a novel that I've had in my head for years doesn't give you much room for writers block. Not only that, but the characters are writing themselves, so that helps a great deal as well. Once in a great while I stumble across a writer's speedbump when I'm trying to do dialog and stuff, but even that doesn't last long.
~How do you fix it?
I usually mentally grab the character thats lost his or her lines and slap them around until their tongue gets loose again. In reality though, if the words aren't coming, its time to take a break and do the other parts of writing which don't involve writing, aka letting my imagnation loose for a while.
~Do you type or write by hand?
The first stages of writing for me are by hand. I have an old ratty beat up notebook with all sorts of story ideas, notes, characters, names, places, novels, series, whole darn worlds... All of that is hand written, but once it is, then its time to actually type. Then I pull out my trusty acer laptop and go to town!
~Do you save everything you write?
Pretty much unless its chat logs or something like that. I've got old notes from years ago. Granted a lot of stuff from before I decided I was a writer is gone forever, but oh well. But yes, I save like crazy now. I have my laptop, then my desk top as a copy of everything, then I have two flash drives with copies (one in my desk, the other in the fire box.), then I have a nice portable hard drive with a back up version as a just in case elsewhere, and to top it all off my novel is backed up offsite so if everything gets smashed I haven’t lost much. ^^ I be the save dragon!
~Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it?
I haven’t yet, though I have thought about going back to my first several works and redoing them with my new practiced style and everything. Of course I’ve been trying to finish this darn novel first. I really should do nothing but write, sleep, eat, go to work, and repeat.
~Do you have a constructive critic?
Quite honestly, no I don’t. This is one thing that scares me. Either I’m the greatest writer the world has ever known, or people are too scared to hurt my feelings with my writing. I need constructive criticism, but I’ve received very little. Most of what I hear is “great job”, “You should publish this”, “it’s a good story”. I appreciate it very much, but I need someone that can make me cry, and then bring me back from the brink of throwing my manuscript in the fireplace and help me turn the darn thing into gold. If you can do that, I have a very important request. SEND ME A NOTE DARN IT! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?!
~Did you ever write a novel?
Yes, its currently in the middle of the second draft. I have plans for… At least sixteen other novels, and quite possibly more too. I just need to get out of retail and learn how to sit and write all day long and ignore the less important things like sleeping and eating to get everything done.
~What genre would you love to write but haven’t?
Romance, Mystery, Science Fiction, Non-fiction, Modern day Fiction. Shoot, I’ve even thought about writing erotica.
~What’s one genre you have never written, and probably never will?
Westerns. Yeah there you go. Most likely won’t ever do one of those. However, the whole idea of a good old cowboy dragon is just awesome… Oh darn story idea incoming…
~How many writing projects are you working on right now?
Invading Will: A young dragon, an angry scout from the nation of Freeraven, and a druid from the north are brought together by an insidious trap designed to ensnare the fate of a small kingdom.
Tarak episode one: (short story) A guardian dragon looks after his village, and even after being with them for hundreds of years finds that its still not an easy job.
Imperium Rising: (Season one) (script) Earth, you’re not alone. Earth, its not friendly out there. Earth, its time to learn what your future holds for you, prepare for the fight of your lives. (This is in conjuction with other animators and artists. Its quite possibly the largest project and most detailed project I’ve ever worked on in my life. Its 9 years in the making. I’ll keep you all posted though.)
~Do you write for a living? Do you want to?
Not yet, but that’s the key. I am a writer, even if I have to live in a darn cardboard box to prove it. I have the determination to be one, and I will be one. I am only ashamed that I don’t write more than I do now.
~Have you ever written something for a magazine or newspaper?
No, though I have thought about it a great deal. One of the big reasons why I haven’t is that I can’t justify writing a little article or short story when I still have my first novel unfinished. Shoot, I feel guilty about that short story above, but you have to have some variety once in a great while.
~Have you ever won an award for your writing?
Yes, oddly enough I was published in a book of American poetry while I was in high school. The weird thing is I don’t write poetry, and I don’t much like writing the stuff either. Somehow the judges thought my short little thing was brilliant and submitted it to be published that year. The book is still down there too, maybe I should post that thing… Hmm…
~What are your five favorite words?
Green, conundrum, pancake, cookies, plot, why
~Do you ever write based on your dreams?
Based on my dreams, no. However, there are bits and pieces of dreams that have been making their way into stories and plans for years now. Beware, this could be bad for our heroes team, when I dream I don’t kid around.
~Do you favor happy endings, sad endings, or cliff-hangers?
I like happy endings, however I feel my characters have to earn them. So most of the time there is a cliff hanger, and then another and another and another until those heroes have thoroughly saved the world twice over and probably an additional time from themselves too. I like my stories epic, and because of that no story ever ends. MHA HA HA!
~Have you ever written based on an artwork you’ve seen?
You know, I can’t recall. I think I have, but I can’t think what it would have been. I draw a lot of inspiration from artwork though. All you artists out there, keep up the good work, you have no idea how much I appreciate your hard work. But anyway, for the fun of it, artwork from these people have given me some ideas for things in the future. This is in no way a complete list….
…Ok, I changed my mind. I am not going to put up my entire watch list. Because quite honestly, I’ve gathered at least something from everyone on it. I’ve taken at least a shred of inspiration from each and every one of you people out there, and quite a few of you out there that I haven’t watched, don’t know me, the list goes on.
I would love to do some stories based on a few pictures, but I really need to do other things first sadly. I hope perhaps soon I can, we shall see.
