This trend worries me though b/c it's not just artists doing it. It's elitist to even admit it; but, when artists or "hawt chicks" do it, it's entertaining or interesting b/c it's either aesthetically "easy on the eyes" or insightful into how that person draws the world (take Da Vinci for example who's own facial features sometimes ended up in his artwork). Meanwhile there's people with no drawing talent, no Photography talent, and no interesting stories to tell who add to the sketch-spam in the daily submissions and make it a chore to find actual artwork or anything for that matter with real effort behind it

Don't even get me started on the Worst-Case scenarios like RL Fetish pics, ewww...

I'm not knocking them alone though... it's partly the Coders' faults for not having working Filters while Scrap pictures often show up in upload lists(Bugged??). I don't even own a camera and don't plan on getting one, not even to show pictures of my wolf Sarlina. ...Atleast not until there's tighter control over this stuff, I don't *want* total strangers seeing this stuff in the first place, just friends and probably the crazy number of people who've decided to watch me even though I just got here like 2 months ago.

I kinda like seeing the real person behind the art. Makes them easier to spot at cons and just say hello to. You know what they draw, and if they're part of this fandom, they can't justify being snooty. ;) So yeah - I like the photos once in a while.

As for those who post their "hawt" photos, it's pretty obvious that they know those shots will get attention. Everybody likes positive comments, and they come by the boatload on the internet; people - men and women alike - don't hold back. It's kinda cool when you find out that this girl and that girl likes your appearance. I guess that's why more people are posting their photos.

As for the trend starting on FA, I know it might clog up some of the daily submissions, but I don't get too many of those. I just happened to notice ZETA-R because she was getting mad faves on her picture and I caught it on another person's favorites list. No doubt she deserves some of that...nicest looking lady I've seen on here so far, though I'm sure there are equally attractive ones all around. Tamen's pretty cute. ;)

Without getting long-winded, I'm all for it. Maybe not the fetish pics unless said person makes it look good. But it's nice to see the real person behind the fursona.

Yeah, I dunno about the mentality of someone posting a tattoo of a cub on their arm. That's almost asking for someone to label you a pedophile. Not too many people tatoo young children on their body.

Still, the myspace phenomenon has its merits. From my perspective, I'd rather have it on FA because at least I know the person - crazy as they sometimes are - isn't too snooty if they found this place to their liking.

*laughs* don't even say that, man. I've seen some bold comments from the women when a guy posts their face on, regardless of what they look like. After all, it's about what they think. ;)

That is a really interesting trend. I am thinking about posting a real life photo of me at some point. I don't think i will spam my gallery with pictures of me, just like one picture on FA and then post the others on my site if i decide to take more. Now to just get my Digital camera to work because all i have now is a low-end webcam. (i am thinking of reviling my RL photo in a little Alternate Reality game i am making along with some other goodies like some new art, stories, characters, backgroud stories for my characters, and my Actual name. but i don't know.) And now i should end this comment.

I try to keep my own photo-posting to a bare minimum... the next time I put one up should be in another year, or another 80 pounds. =P

Posting a picture of yourself is okay if you keep it tasteful and just want fans to know what you look like.

So when my A+ writing stuffs are posted and people are actually chatting me up more. Maybe I can post a RL picture of myself. But even then I just might not even bother unless asked.
